Nicolas Cage has showcased through his extreme performances that he can embody just about any character, be it a hero or a villain, as efficiently and intensely as possible. Then he expressed what role he wanted to play in that particular saga established by filmmakerMatt Reevessaying:

For those unversed with this obscure character, Edgar Heed was a baldy supervillain who had self-imposed the title of being“the world’s smartest criminal”on himself. As the name suggests, he was massively obsessed witheggs, and not only had a wide assortment of egg-shaped weapons but even madeegg-punswhile talking!
