If you ever wanted to use a DualSense controller on yourXbox Series X|S, accessory maker Hyperkin has you covered with “The Competitor” pro controller, which isn’t shy about its inspiration.
Hyperkin’s new version of The Competitor was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which kicks off today. It essentially copied the DualSense in almost every way.

Hyperkin’s The Competitor Has Symmetrical Sticks And A Familiar Color Scheme
The analog sticks are in a symmetrical position, just like on a standard PlayStation controller. The controller’s color scheme is white and black, which is also the color scheme for the standard DualSense controller. Even the directional pad and face buttons have the same shape as those on a PS5 controller.
Of course, this isn’t a 1:1 copy of Sony’s PS5 controller, as this is a “pro” controller. Before we dive into the features (viaIGN), one major drawback needs to be mentioned: the controller is wired.

If you’re OK with that, then this should be an upgrade in every way. The analog sticks are built with Hall Effect parts, which means better durability and it isn’t as prone to the dreaded stick drift issue plaguing almost every controller on every platform.
This wouldn’t be a pro controller without back buttons, and The Competitor has two programmable ones that players can map to whichever button they want. Most people who use controllers with back buttons use it to map the X and O buttons to the back, so players won’t need to switch their right thumb to a face button if they want to jump, crouch, or dive in shooters.

10 Best Special Edition Xbox Controllers, Ranked
Special Edition controllers are often as beautiful as they are rare, and Xbox has had some of the best.
When it comes to the triggers, they are shaped just like what you’d see in a DualSense, but they are also built with Hall Effect parts that help with precision when applying pressure.

The directional pad isn’t just made to look like the DualSense but also separated and pointed inward. There is no trackpad, of course, which is perfectly understandable given the original Xbox Series X|S controller doesn’t have an equivalent.
No release date or price has yet been revealed for The Competitor, but you’re able to bet this will be priced similarly to other pro controllers (meaning it won’t be cheap).
