When you’re considering adding a boss to your team, the Winter Region’s White Wolfis a great inclusion. With a sturdy HP pool and a mix of melee swipes and ranged Water-type ice attacks, it’s hard to go wrong with this frigid puppy.

Since you canfight bosses multiple times, you’re able to even befriend multiple White Wolves. Time to cover your foes in permafrost.
Taming Requirements
To tame the White Wolf, you mustrevive Fubuki, the God of Winter,by beating this boss on a main story quest. You’ll also unlock the Sacred Parasol’s skill tree afterward.
Next, one of your villages needs to havesufficient space in a Barn.Likeother boss monstersinGuardians of Azuma, you’ll need 4 open spaces to house a White Wolf. You received a free Barn in the Autumn Region after unlocking herding monsters, but big fellas like the White Wolf fill a basic Barn’s space all on their own.

Storage Units
35 Lumber, 15 Stone
Large Barn
100 Lumber, 40 Stone
Don’t worry if you forget to build a new one! You can rearrange barns after befriending a monster (even if doing so requires releasing some of your pets).
You’ll alsoneed an Ice Crystalto gift to the White Wolf. Unlike most crystals, Ice Crystals can be mined directly!

The earliest source is in the southeast chamber of mining points in the Summer Region’s Limestone Caverns. However, the easiest place to mine Ice Crystals is the Winter Region’s frozen waterfall.
You can find this landmark in the north of the main wide-open area, on the plateau past the broken bridge. The mining point is near the base of the waterfall. If you climb up the waterfall, you’ll find a second mining point at the far northern end of the little frozen lake (plus a treasure chest).

Use Matsuri’s Sacred Sword to melt an ice block below the plateau. This reveals an air vent. Float up with the Sacred Parasol, and you land right by the frozen waterfall.
If you don’t want to spend time, you can just spend money instead.Hisui’s shop in Summer Villagesells Ice Crystals at a nasty mark-up of 10,000 gold.

Poaching The Pooch
Once you have an open Barn and an Ice Crystal in your pocket, it’s time for a rematch with the White Wolf. Hopefully you activated the Dragon Statue, because otherwise you have to hike all the way back up White Wolf Mountain.
When you return to the boss arena, you’ll find a purple orb floating in the middle. Interact with it to trigger a rematch. You already beat the White Wolf once, so a second battle shouldn’t be too bad, right?
At the start of the battle, use the Plum Branch to perform the Dance of Bondsnear the White Wolf. This initiates the taming process. If your dance succeeds, a small smiley-face icon will appear below the White Wolf’s HP bar.
Next, go ahead and clobber the boss. After your victory, the White Wolf will stand back up, and you’re able to attempt to befriend it with a gift. Give it an Ice Crystal, and enjoy your new pet!
Even with a liked gift, you might not successfully befriend a monster. If you initially see a heart, it liked the gift. Keep trying until you succeed! You can give up to three gifts in each taming attempt.
