Fabien Frankel’s Ser Criston Cole isn’t the most favorite character in the show right now, but fans cannot deny that the role brought so much color and emotion to the already fascinating world of HBO’sHouse of the Dragon.

Cole is one of the most interesting parts of the story – he went from pledging loyalty to Rhaenyra Targaryen to switching sides and supporting King Aegon, but for the most part, he was always with Team Green.
Fabien Frankel Will Always Be Team Green
The beginning of theDance of the Dragonswas also the time when fans started taking sides, and it is safe to assume that the majority of viewers extended their full support on Team Black. It’s easy to see why they have people’s sympathy.
Rhaenyra Targaryenwas the heir to the Iron Throne for many years until the birth of Aegon II. As soon as King Viserys passed away, the latter was immediately crowned as ruler, with Ser Criston Cole pushing for it as if his life depended on it. Well, he obviously did it because he hated Rhaenyra for rejecting his elopement proposal.

Team Green has a lot of red flags, and yetFabien Frankelstill swears by it even in real life. In his interview withThe New York Times, he proclaimed his unwavering loyalty to Alicent Hightower and King Aegon II’s camp: “I’m very Team Green, and proud of it.”
We can’t blame him, though. It is his job to fight for the Greens, and he admitted he’s now programmed to think that way, at least when he needs to internalize for his scenes. The 30-year-old French-English actor is also happy that there are fans who support his squad. “I’m glad to hear there’s some love for the Greens out there. I think we are a force to be reckoned with,” he added.

Frankel is so dedicated to his role as the Lord Commander turned Hand of the King that he jokingly promised he would back up the Greens in a street fight. The actor is very well aware of his character’s flaws, and he is doing a great job delivering what’s needed for his role, even if he stays in character and expresses all-out support for the Greens outside of the filming set.
Why Fabien Frankel Supports Team Green
Criston Cole had a more significant part in the second season. He continues to be the champion of the Greens alongsideEwan Mitchell’sAemond Targaryen. In fact, they formed an unlikely alliance which got fans questioning their motives.

On the side of the Greens, Aemond is one of the most powerful forces that cannot be ignored. This is also the reason why Cole supported him as Prince Regent as their interests and goals are mostly aligned with each other.
Frankel is confident in the strength and will of his own team, and even though some fans would not agree with him, they cannot deny that the Greens also hold great power that cannot be easily deterred.

House of the Dragonis currently available to watch on HBO.
