EA is taking the bullet for not greenlightingDead Space 4, and rightly so. It was its decision not to go forward with the game due to the lackluster sales of its predecessor,Dead Space Remake, which allegedly sold only 2 million copies, which is not less but probably not enough to fill EA’s pockets.

This is one of the biggest reasonsDead Space 4might never see the light of day.Dead Space 2also faced a similar fate earlier this year, and the entire franchise seems to be going down a dark path at the moment.
Dead Space 4 owes its death to Dead Space Remake
Is it too soon to say thatDead Spaceis dead? Probably not, given the current situation the franchise is in. The game has been a people’s favorite for a long time now, and it will not be easy for most of them to bid farewell to it too soon.
EA needs to open up about its decision to not greenlight the game and give the players a better picture of it so that they get some clarity on it. However, nothing has yet been revealed to the players as of now, which is the biggest contributor to the growing uncertainty around theDead Spacefranchise.

However, not all fans seem to agree with EA’s decision and believe thatDead Space Remakewas a good game that they had a great time playing, and selling 2 million copies should not be considered a failure. However, the three creators of the gamerevealedto the public that theirpitch was outrightly rejected by EA.

If you’re wondering just how broken the A through AAA game development cost situation is, the Dead Space remake sold 2 million copies as a horror game during a time where more games are released than ever before, and it’s considered a failure.https://t.co/3g2qYjL1zI
I played the remake like 4 times. I love the dead space games. EA is horrible. They keep destroying everything. They don’t care about the fans.

It is still uncertain what the future might hold for the franchise, but it is fair to say that it looks bleak. EA also shelvedDead Space 2earlier this year and transferred the team from it to work on the nextBattlefieldgame.
Dead Space is floating in a sea of uncertainty
It is still not sure what the future might bring forDead Space; as of now, everything seems lost, and fans of the game are extremely sad about its premature demise. The developerwent through great pains to make the game appear as realistic as possiblebut failed to garner a positive response from the players.

However, the franchise is not yet officially dead, and there is still a chance for the game to bounce back and find solid ground again. EA should give it another go for the sake of its fans.
