TheHonkai Star Railroster features a number of impressive characters and continues to grow, but with so many impressive 5* characters it’s easy to overlook the 4* characters at times.

Sushang is a Physical Path of the Hunt character, she is likely one of the best 4* DPS characters in the roster and can even compete with some of the 5*’s if built correctly. Keep reading our guide to see how to make Sushang the strongest knight she can be!
Best Light Cones
Sushang is a Path of the Hunt character, and so she obviously will prefer to run Path of the Hunt Light Cones. Here are a few of the best ones you’re able to get for her.
In The Night
The signature light cone of the limited character Seele, this limited 5* Light Cone is only available on Light Cone banners next to Seele herself. “In the Night” Willincrease the wearer’s Crit Rate by 12%and for every10 points if speed exceeds 100they will gain a6% DMG bonus to their Basic ATK, their Skill,and they will gain an8% Crit DMG bonus to their Ultimate.
These buffs will be great for Sushang as she will be using her Ultimate and her Skill very often. Of course, it’s recommended to build some Speed on her to gain these benefits, but you will likely be building some speed on her anyway.
Sleep Like the Dead
A standard 5* Light cone and signature Light cone of Yanqing. “Sleep Like the Dead” will increase the wearersCrit DMG by 30%and if the characters Basic Attack or Skill fail to land a Crit hit then the wearersCrit Rate will be increased by 36%for 1 turn. Although this can only occur once every 3 turns it’s a great Light cone for essentially guaranteeing that the character lands a Crit hit.
A 4* Light cone that can be obtained from Honkai Star Rails Gacha System. “Swordplay” is Sushang’s signature Light cone. When the wearer attacks the same enemy they will buildstacks increase the wearers damage by 8%, this stacks up to 5 timesbut will be dispelled upon changing targets. This Light cone encourages focusing enemies one at a time but as a Hunt character that is essentially how Sushang plays anyway.
Return To Darkness:
Another 4* Light Cone which is available to players that purchase the Nameless Honour battle pass and reach level 30 in it. “Return To Darkness” willincrease the wearer’s Crit rate by 12%and after the wearerlands a Crit hitthere is a 16% chance that it willdispel a random debuff on them.This can only trigger once per attack, so the extra hits Sushang can cause through her Skill won’t trigger it. However, it is still a great piece of utility to have.
Honkai Star Rail: How To Get & Craft Relics
Best Build
Sushang should of course focus on increasing her damage output when building Relics. It’s recommended to prioritizeCrit ratio followed by ATK, Speed, and Effect Rate.As for building, she isn’t too difficult as one set is already great for her.
4-Piece Champion of Streetwise Boxing
Champion of Streetwise Boxing is the dedicated Physical DPS set that will greatly benefit Sushang. Its 2-piece bonus will simply increase thePhysical DMG of its wearer by 10%while the 4-Piece set bonus will, after the wearer attacks or is attacked,increases their ATK by 5%for the rest of the battle, which canstack up to 5 times.
As a Physical character, this will greatly benefit Sushang, and thanks to her Ultimate granting her an extra turn she can build stacks fairly quickly.
Along with the equipment set Honkai Star Rail also features accessory relics for characters to build.
Inert Salsotto
Inert Salsotto is a set that will increase the wearer’sCrit Rate by 8%and once theirCrit rate reaches 50% or higherit willincrease the DMG of the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attacks by 15%.While Sushang doesn’t have follow-up attacks, the Crit rate increase and the Ultimate DMG increase are still very useful for her.
Space Sealing Station
This set is also quite useful for Sushang. Space Sealing Station will increase the wearer’sATK by 12%and if the wearer’sspeed reaches 120 or higherthey will gain another12% bonus to their ATK.
Talia Kingdom of Banditry
Lastly, Talia Kingdom of Banditry will increase the wearer’sBreak Effect by 20%and when theirSpeed reaches 145 or higherit will increase theirBreak Effect by another 28%.This will allow Sushang to break enemy weaknesses much faster allowing her to take advantage of extra damage and her Eidolon 1 if players have it.

Best Teams
Sushang is a great DPS character and shines at both breaking enemy weaknesses and dealing damage. In this team, Asta’s speed increases, and Pela’s DEF shred ability will allow Sushang to quickly breakdown enemy weaknesses while Natasha’s healing provides survivability. Players can also run Sushang with characters such as Tingyun and Bronya allowing her to deal massive amounts of damage and becoming a nuke character. Due to both Natasha and Sushang being Physical characters, players who have Bailu may find it more beneficial to use her instead of Natasha to cover more elements for weakness break.
