Mortal Kombat 1may have issues, but its ability to bring together strong individuals from various franchises makes it stand out in the fighting genre. FromInvincible‘s Omni-Man toThe Suicide Squad‘s Peacemaker, the latest NetherRealm title’s had no shortage of excellent guest characters, and the developer has shared a first look at another supervillain who will be making hisMortal Kombatdebut soon.

How else can one get the required nutritions for brutal fights in Mortal Kombat 1?

The absence of Antony Starr’s voice is glaring, but everything else looks faithful to what Homelander’s all about, including drinking milk in a disturbing way.

Mortal Kombat 1 Shares the First Look for Homelander

After Prime Video shared the trailer for the fourth season ofThe Boys,Mortal Kombat 1got on the hype train and unleashed its first look at the unhinged supervillain from the show joining the game.

The trailer kicks off with one of Homelander’s signature habits: being a bit too passionate about milk as he sniffs, slurps, and drinks it directly from a small bottle to prepare for the fatalities that await him. Although the footage isn’t long, it manages to replicate the character’s essence from the series, as even when pitted against Liu Kang, he knows that he has the upper hand.

The exchange between the two powerful beings in the newMortal Kombattrailer is amusing, as Kang tells Homelander that he has “chosen war with a god,” to which the latter replies, “No, you have.” Fortunately, the milk isn’t the only thing that the guest character is bringing fromThe Boys, as he comes equipped with his eye lasers and devours the Fire God’s face with them. Kang also gets punched into the sky, after which a plane hits him, which is another callback to the show.

The Absence of Antony Starr Is Felt in the Trailer

WhileJohn Cena reprised his role asPeacemaker,The Boysfans aren’t as lucky since Antony Starr isn’t voicing Homelander in the game. Sure, he looks like him, so NetherRealm got the likeness right, but hearing another voice come out of him feels odd. However,Mortal Kombatenthusiasts may recognize the supervillain’s voice from the previous installment in the series.

A Mortal Kombat Fan-Favourite Finally Joins Mortal Kombat 1 in April 2024, and He Already has the Best Fatality of the Game

IMDbcredits Chris Cox as the voice of Homelander inMortal Kombat 1, but this isn’t his first time voicing a DLC character in the franchise. Cox also voiced The Terminator inMortal Kombat 11, and although it takes some time to adjust to his voice coming froma character modeled after Antony Starr, he may actually pull it off when the supervillain finally makes his way into the game.

NetherRealm has not shared when the character will make hisMortal Kombatdebut, but considering howThe BoysSeason 4 premieres next month on June 13, the developer could be eyeing a release date around that time.

Seeing the likeness of Antony Starr and hearing someone else’s voice come out of him feels a little odd.
