First announced in 2019, Hollow Knight: Silksong has repeatedly been pushed back, with fans expecting it to appear at every single online gaming showcase, like a Nintendo Direct or Summer Games Fest, only to be left disappointed each time.
An announcement on Team Cherry’sYouTube channel has finally given fans the news they’ve waited years to hear, as Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on June 16, 2025. The game will also have a day-one launch on Game Pass.

With Hollow Knight: Silksongplayable at Gamescom 2025, fans had assumed that it was on the way, though no one was quite sure how close it would be. The trailer released by Team Cherry proved that it’s all real, and it’s coming soon.
According to the trailer, Hollow Knight: Silksong will have over 200 enemies, 40 bosses, and brand-new upgrades for Hornet to use. One of these is a gliding move that evokes Princess Peach’s special ability from theSuper Mario Bros.series, allowing her to descend to new platforms gracefully.
With Hollow Knight: Silksong, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, andVampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 all launchingin the same year, the dreams of countless gamers are being realized. Hollow Knight: Silksong is easily the biggest of the bunch, with many fans already clearing their calendar in two weeks’ time, so that they can return to the kingdom of the insects once more and spend as much time there as possible.
