The Gamescom Opening Night Live kicked off today, and it gave fans a closer look into one of the most anticipated games, Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy was initially slated to release this year, but the developers announced that it had been pushed back a bit to ensure that they are able to deliver the best possible experience. While some fans were disappointed with the news, others were quite optimistic as it would allow the developers to have more time to ship a polished game. With a February 2023 release date confirmed, many wondered when the developers would showcase the game, and the Gamescom Opening Night didn’t disappoint.

While the previous trailers focused on the world-building and narrative aspects of the game, this trailer takes a different approach and takes players to the woods outside of Hogwarts. The trailer kicks off on a polarizing note, with players being advised not to use dark magic while being informed of its benefits at the same time. And before one realizes it, they are given to choose between casting Crucio, a dark magic spell, or being cast Crucio.

Throughout the trailer, we see the players in action, casting their magic spells to annihilate hordes of enemies. What’s even more interesting is the enemy design shown in the trailer, each of them boasting unique attacks and appearances. The trailer ends with the pre-order information about the game, which is all set to go live in a few days.

While the trailer was relatively short, it has managed to instill hype among fans, as players are now curious to learn more about the dark arts as well as the choices in the game. From the looks of it, it might be that players could get an option to become the antagonist as well, and if that happens, it could give an all-new dimension to the game. There is still a while to go for the game to release, so we should be learning more about it in the days to come.
