It’s a bit disappointing that you’re able to’t adopt cats inHogwarts Legacy, but you can adopt a creature that’s arguably even better – a Kneazle. Kneazles are cat-likemagical beastswhose fur can be used to weave powerful traitsinto various pieces of gear at an Enchanted Loom.

Your first encounter with a Kneazle is likely to be during Beasts Class; however, you won’t be able to capture one for your own Vivariumsuntil completing the quest The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and The Loom. In addition to catching them, you’ll also be able to breed Kneazles once you gain access to the Breeding Pen.

Where To Find Kneazles In The Wild

Similar toHippogriffs, Kneazles are quite rare and difficult to find in the wild. There are only five places in the entire game where you’re guaranteed to find some of these lovable kitties.you may sometimes also find Kneazles locked up in cagesin and around poacher camps; however, these Kneazles seem to spawn there at random, so it’s usually a better idea to look for their dens instead.

Hogwarts Valley Kneazle Den

The quickest way to catch a Kneazle is to look for the den in the northeastern portion of the Hogwarts Valley region. From the Brocburrow Floo Flame, head south until you spot a ruined castlenear the edge of a forest. The Kneazle den is located just in front of the castle’s entrance.

South Sea Bog Kneazle Den

Another den can be found in South Sea Bog, a small region to the south of Hogwarts Valley. Start at the Northern South Sea Bog Floo Flame andtravel southeast into the swamp past the Merlin Trial. You’ll find the Kneazle den right across from a sizeable bandit camp.

Marunween Kneazle Den

This next one can be found in the southwestern portion of the Marunween Lake region. The quickest way to reach it is tostart at the Marunween Ruins Floo Flame and travel south along the road. You’ll spot the den on a small beach next to the sea.

Cragcroftshire Kneazle Den

There’s also a Kneazle Den in the northern part of the Cragcroftshire region, not far from the village of Cragcroft. The fastest way to reach it is tostart at the Cragcroft Floo Flame and travel northwest along the mountain. You’ll find the den at the entrance of a ravine leading to a treasure vault.

Clagmar Coast Kneazle Den

The last den can be found in the southwestern part of the Clagmar Coast region. This is a pretty remote area, but you can use the nearby Clagmar Castle as a point of reference. From the castle’s Floo Flame, head west toward the sea, and you’ll spot the den right next to a flying course. You’ll be sent there as part of the side quest, The Sky Is The Limit, so you may want to wait until you get the quest before you visit the area.

How To Catch A Kneazle

Whether you’re rescuing them from poachers or finding them in the wild, you’ll still need to use a couple of tricks to catch Kneazles for your Vivariums. Much like real cats, Kneazles are cunning and cautious creatures that won’t simply sit around as you attempt to catch them. This is wherethe Disillusionment spell comes in handy.

Once you’re in range, you’ll need to use the Nab-Sack andpress the prompt a total of five timesto successfully capture a Kneazle. Since you can’t use Petrificus Totalus on them while under the effects of Disillusionment, you’ll need to cast a different spell-like Levioso, to prevent the Kneazle from running away while you attempt to catch it.Justkeep in mind that Levioso wears out pretty faston magical beasts, so you may need to cast it a couple of times before you can successfully capture them.
