Donald Trump may have put in his final pitch for his presidential campaign in a three-hour conversation with Joe Rogan on his podcast. Rogan and Trump touched upon several topics during their talk, and the former President spoke about Abraham Lincoln at one point. However, he got one Lincoln fact so wrong, which was not expected from a self-proclaimed history buff.

Besides the discussion on Lincoln, Trump also reiterated his claims of election fraud in 2020, which has been debunked since. He also shared his idea of introducing tariffs and eliminating federal income tax. Notably, Rogan was initially against the idea of bringing Trump on his podcast, addressing it on the new episode.
Donald Trump Gets One Abraham Lincoln Fact Wrong Despite Claiming To Be A History Lover
Donald Trump‘s move to appear on an unfiltered podcast with the country’s most popular podcaster is being considered a ballsy move. In his three-hour-long conversation withJoe Rogan, Trump opened up about several topics that he put forth in his election campaign.
The discussion turned to the life of former Republican President Abraham Lincoln when Trump described seeing the Lincoln bedroom in The White House for the first time. However, Trump got one of his facts wrong about Lincoln, which some viewers on social media pointed out. Trump stated thatLincoln was depressedafter his son“Tad”had passed away. He shared withThe Joe Rogan Podcast:

[Abraham Lincoln] lost his son and they suffered from melancholia. They didn’t call it depression, they called it melancholia. He was a very depressed guy and [Mary Todd] was a very depressed woman more so than him. On top of that, they lost their son whose name was Tad.
However, X users like@KevinlyFathernoted that Thomas “Tad” Lincoln died six years after Lincoln’s death. It was not as if Trump had said something that was completely untrue. It appears that Trump probably confused the names of Lincoln’s children as it was William “Willie” Wallace who died before the President. Lincoln also lost another child Edward Baker.

The mistake from the President gained attention for another reason too. He had earlier claimed his love for history and American culture on hisXprofile, where he expressed his discontent over statues and monuments being ripped apart. However, he and his father Fred Trump had allegedly been involved in the destruction of historical properties in the past (via Politico).
Donald Trump Had Some Controversial Topics To Discuss With Joe Rogan
Donald Trump once again reiterated his claims of election fraud on Joe Rogan’s podcast. He claimed that the mail-in ballots in 2020 were not secure and alleged that the Democrats cheated elections using COVID-19 as a cover. He also shared that he did not trust the poll systems.

Trump shared that there was“probably a lot of fraud”in these political polls, despite using them previously to prove his voter support. He also touched upon his idea of replacing the current income tax system with a tariff system. He credited former Republican president William McKinley who had this revolutionary view on tariff systems.
Interestingly, Rogan was previously vocal about not bringing Trump on to his podcast. He had earlier shared that Trump was“an existential threat to democracy”(via The New York Times). However, he shared in the new interview thathe had a change of mindafter Trump survived the assassination attempt on him during the election rally in Pennsylvania.
