Originally set to be released in May, the PS5-exclusive RPG by Chinese studio Ultizero Games titled “Lost Soul Aside” has now officially been delayed.
The delay is for a few months, as Lost Soul Aside’s new release date is July 08, 2025.
Lost Soul Aside Needs More Time For Polish
The studio announced the news onTwitter/X, where game director Yang Bing posted, “We are truly grateful for the positive response we’ve received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside.” Additionally, Yang Bing confirmed the extra time was to further work on the game, stating, “We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game.”
It’s a good three-month delay, but I’d rather see it get pushed back a few months than have a buggy game at launch with the promises of patches. While live service games can sometimes get away with having a rocky launch that gets smoothed out by updates, it’s not the same as single-player experiences. Usually, what you see is what you get, and the moment players hear how buggy a game is? It’s quite hard to recover from it.
Lost Soul Aside is an action-adventure RPG that Sony Interactive Entertainment will publish on PS5 and PC. Per the official game description, it reads, “Embark on an epic odyssey to save your younger sister – and the whole of humanity – from mysterious dimensional invaders from beyond the starlit skies in Lost Soul Aside.”

With Lost Soul Aside’s delay, Sony has one big game due for release from August to October. Lost Soul Aside will carry the PlayStation flag in August,Marathonwill be released on all platforms in September, andGhost of Yoteiwill be released in October. Assuming nothing gets delayed, that’s one AAA title per month for three months.
While thegameplayreleased might suggest it, Lost Soul Aside is not a soul-like experience, so temper those expectations accordingly.
