During your first bounty inHigh on Life, you’ll rescue a psychopathic knife named Knifey. Knifey is more than just a combat tool; he also allows you to grapple and can finally open the Luglox chests you may have spotted since your arrival in Blim City. Knifey himself will tell you how to use him to open the first chest you come across in The Slums.

There are over 200 Luglox chests, and The Slums will be home to 26 of them. With Knifey in hand, these chests will give easy pesos once you track them down.
How To Open Luglox Chests
This advice is only relevant here and only once because The Slums is where you obtain Knifey.Squanch Gamesput the tutorial for opening Luglox chests directly after you rescue him. Knifey (voiced by Michael Cusack, co-creator ofAdult Swim’sSmiling Friends) will happily state his desire to rip open every Luglox chest you come across, andthe prompt will always appear on the screenwhen in front of a chest should you forget.
You likely came across Luglox chests before, such as the one inThe Slums laundromat, but couldn’t open them until now. Many chests, such as the laundromat one, will be easy to remember; however,some may end up in spots that look a bit identical to places you’ve seen a hundred times before.
Such is the nature of collectibles. But, there is another mechanic in place that can help you easily detect which areas need to be searched more thoroughly.
Check the radar in the bottom left of the image and notice a blue line just about where the Luglox is in relation to the player.This image specifically also has a red line, which is an enemy. Blue lines are for Luglox chests; however, they can also indicate a warp crystal.
Whenever you use your search function, you will briefly see how many Luglox chests are in your current map and how many of them you already have. You’ll also see his counter when you use a portal from your home to teleport.Be warned this sometimes glitches, and the count will be for the wrong area, but it fixes itself quickly. If you know for certain you are missing a Luglox in your location, use the radar and look for any blue spots. Always head in that direction because if it is instead a warp crystal, those have their value, and picking one up will at least help you narrow your search.
Regarding The Slums, there are two major areas, and they share a Luglox count. The first half can be collected with little more than Knifey alone, but the jetpack can help.Uptown isn’t unlocked until you set your bounty for Dr. Giblets.The chests are spread around the area and can be easily found with simple traversal. The images provided are simply to help orient you if the radar isn’t doing it.
That said, some of the chests can be a bit tricky, so a further explanation can only help.
Just after you defeat 9-Torg, be sure to collect the Luglox in the arena before leaving.you’re able to come back for it later if you missed it, but the jump is easiest to make while the platforms are still level from the fight.
Find this blue clown head and use Knifey to grapple into the open eye socket. There’s a chest inside the mouth.
Keep an ear out for an alien shouting about treasure; he is standing next to a Luglox, which might be what he’s shouting about. He’ll do it again if you return, so it’s not clear what he is shouting about.
Search the very back of the starting area to find a shack with a red button.Press the button to unload a wire Knifey can grapple on; you will then land on a platform that Kenny can goo shoot, which will catapult you to a Luglox.
Underneath this pier.
Under a pipe near the entry/exit portal.
Behind this fence, there’s an opening on the other side, but Knifey can stab through if you’d like.

You’ll be able to get nearly every Luglox chest in Uptown once it’s open.Heads up, during this section of the story, it will be nighttime, but the Luglox chests light up, so it will be easy to spot.
Once again, most are easily done just by watching your radar.
Some will have landmarks, such as the Space Applebee’s.
Or just behind a dumpster.
But some are simply tucked away in the corner of a table.
Or a sandbar.
Inside a storage container in the sky, thankfully, Knifey can somehow stab through the metal if you can’t find the way inside.
On a pile of what looks like palettes.
Near the entrance to Uptown, beside the enemy warp stations, is a tunnel.The opening touches the toxic water, so watch your step, then climb all the way to the back for a Luglox.
There’s another just under this wharf.
These last two are slightly tricky if only going by the images.
The time of day is not the only difference. Notice the umbrellas are on different sides.Two different patios are holding a Luglox right next to a table with an umbrella.This likely won’t confuse you while playing; just a warning for those only using the pictures to find the Luglox chests.
With that, you have all 26 Luglox chests from both areas of The Slums!
