Hideo Kojima, the director of both theMetal Gear Solidfranchise and his latest IPDeath Stranding, has received a pair of interesting awards from an unlikely source: The Japanese Guinness World Records. Guinness World Records Japan also made an official status update congratulating him and revealing Kojima’s stats at the time of certification:

During the reveal of DeathStranding’s official launch trailer a few days ago before the game released, Hideo Kojima headed around the world as part of the games World Tour. At the same time Norman Reedus detailed his experience on working with the founder of Kojima Productions ina new interview withÂThe Hollywood Reporter.

As forÂthe launch trailer itself, Kojima claimed that he edited the trailer in a way to help allow people to understand the game better. Which after months of confusion surrounding the title’s weird story, is a breath of fresh air. The trailer gave us a cinematic look at the game, showing the infamous baby being carried out of a guarded building. Then we see Norman Reedus’s character, Sam, preparing for a journey. And while we get to see stunning landscapes and desolate areas, the majority of the trailer showed off exploration elements, action scenes, and cinematics.

Just after the title’s launch, Kojima teased a concept forhis next project. According to a recent interview withGamesradar:

In the next five years, the platform will be streaming. Either it’s a movie or game, both will remain – the cinema experience and the platform of games will remain. But the game, you could broadcast that right now, like esports that you see today. I think there’s something ahead, and I’m thinking about that. It’s a movie, but it’s a game, I’m thinking of that kind of idea, and I want to do that kind of thing.

Death Strandinglaunched just last week forPS4on November 8th and is due outon PC in Summer 2020.Preorders for the latter have already gone live on bothSteam and Epic Games Store.
