After months of fans demanding cars be added to the game,Helldivers 2has finally dropped the Fast Recon Vehicle (FRV), justifying itshigh concurrent player countby listening to its fans.
With this new vehicle, you can outrun and outgun your enemies, with justenough space for the entire squad to ride in, plus a mounted heavy machine gun turret, adding to theglorious high-octane fantasy of blowing stuff up with your friends.
Unlike vehicles in other games where the controls are much simpler,the FRV has a built-in manual transmission, requiring you to shift gears to even reverse.
But once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to gun down the Illuminate whiledrifting down the streets of Super Earth’s cities.

How To Get The FRV
The FRV can be acquired in theHangar section of the Stratagemsand can be purchased for 25,000 Requisition Slips.
Like any stratagem, you can select it before missions while in your Hellpod and can call it in once you’ve touched down on a planet’s surface.
The FRV can also befound scattered across the map near objectives.
How To Use The FRV
I play on the PS5, so I will be referring to the buttons on the DualSense controller.
The FRV can reach speeds of up to 100kmph. With 60L of gas in the tank, the FRV would most likely be destroyed before it runs out of fuel.
Notable Controller Bindings:
Interestingly enough, it also has arather realistic gear mechanic, which is a welcome departure from how cars in video games typically function. you may quickly switch gears by tapping L1 or R1.When in doubt, treat it like you’re driving a real car.
Unless you’re planning on becoming a professional FRV driver,any gear other than D and R isn’t required,though they still work just fine.
Going full throttle isn’t always the way to go. Tap on the acceleration instead for better control of your speed.
If you’re not driving the FRV, you can sit in either one of two passenger seats or use the heavy machine gun attached to the back.
Aiming your weapon while in a passenger seat causes your Helldiver to peek out of the car, allowing them to shoot while at the same time exposing them to enemy fire (orfriendly fire).
The heavy machine gun essentially gives you free ammo, as you get five total magazines before you run out. Unfortunately, you can’t aim down sights with this mounted gun.
you may, of course, crash the FRV and potentially die from it. Likewise, you can run over most enemies (and teammates).
While the FRV has decent armor, it can be destroyed by explosions, and having its tires blown out will render it almost undrivable, so be careful!
