As you fight to spread democracy across the galaxy inHelldivers 2, you will be given access to plenty of tools, gear, and weapons that will makethe entire fighta little easier. This includes your ship, which you will travel around in, and while it doesn’t do anything for you when you’reon the ground and fighting, it is still a way for you to express yourself and another avenue of customization. It serves as your main base of operations and will be where your teammates join you when you are playing as a group. Therefore, you want it to be just how you need it to not embarrass yourself among your friends and teammates.

Helldivers 2 delivers blood-pumping action as you face off against two vicious factions: the bug-like Terminids and the Automaton Collective.
There are a few different ways that you can customize your ship, including the name of it. However, the system is a little wonky, as you can’t just type out the name that you want. Instead, you will have to choose from a list of prewritten terms for a couple of different positions. While you can name your ship atthe beginning of the game, you can customize it again later if you change your mind, but it isn’t necessarily the clearest on how you can do that. However, once you do know, the process isn’t too overwhelming or difficult.

How To Change Ship Name
You won’t be able to change your ship’s name until after you have completed the game’s tutorial, which will take you around 20 to 30 minutes. At this point, you will be forced to change the ship’s name for the first time.
However, later on in the game, if you want to change it again, you will need to take the time between missions to do so while you are actually on your ship. This is done by going to theShip Management terminalin the back section of the ship. You will see four monitors on the side; these are the terminals you are going to need to interact with.
On the terminal, go to theDestroyer tab, where you will see the option to “Change Ship Name” on the right side of the screen. Left-click this option or press Square on PS5 to now be taken to the name selection screen.
As is the case when you are first made to name your ship after the tutorial, you will choose from a predetermined list of names for the prefixes and suffixes. Once you have the name you want, just choose the “Apply Name” option by using left-click or the X button on PS5.
Unfortunately, the customization isn’t as deep as you might find in games like Starfield or No Man’s Sky, and you are limited to what the game provides you. However, the combinations can still lead to some humorous names that are sure to take some other players by surprise. Or, you’re able to just choose a totally normal, uneventful name, but do you really want to be that player?
