Helldivers 2may have been on many gamers’ radars before its release, but not even developer Arrowhead itself would’ve imagined the kind of massive heights that it’s managing to reach every day. It seems like there’s absolutely no stopping the third-person shooter, as more players are joining the battle to see what the hype is about.

Helldivers 2 has already passed Halo and Destiny 2 on the Steam charts, and it keeps climbing higher.

For a live-service game to perform this well in today’s landscape is applaudable, considering how other similar titles released recently have failed to fare as well.

From Xbox’s flagship franchiseHaloto Bungie’s popularDestiny 2,Helldivers 2is defeating numerous games by rapidly climbing the Steam charts. The next target is the first surprise hit of 2024:Palworld.

Helldivers 2 Batters Steam and Now Takes Top Spot on PlayStation Too

There’s No Stopping Helldivers 2 on the Steam Charts

AlthoughHaloshould not be in the same conversation as other Steam giants as it is not even in the top most played titles on the platform, just for comparison’s sake, theMaster Chief Collectioncurrentlyhasunder 5,000 players in-game, with a 24-hour peak of just over 10,000 players.

It is not remotely close to the number of gamers that Arrowhead’s title has managed to achieve in just two weeks of release, as theMaster Chief Collectionhas an all-time peak of 161,024 players, which was recorded four years ago.

Palworld may have a higher all-time peak than Arrowhead Game Studios' title, but the latter currently has more in-game players.

A better competitor would definitely be Bungie’s free-to-play title, but even that seems to be no match for Arrowhead Game Studios.

It is absolutely crazy to see theDestinysequel not even in the top 35 most played games on Steam, as it currently sits at the 37th spot on the charts withalmost31,000 players in-game at the time of writing. Even with an all-time peak of 316,750 players that was recorded nearly a year ago, and despite being a free video game, Bungie is struggling to pull in the numbers thatHelldivers 2is so seamlessly managing.

Arrowhead Game Studios’ latest effort finds itself in the 3rdspoton the charts, with more than 309kplayerscurrently playing.

“The Halo killer is born”: Helldivers 2 Could Prove to Be a Big Miss for Phil Spencer and Xbox, in a Time Where They Need a Win

Arrowhead Game Studios’ Game Currently Has More In-Game Players Than Palworld

Arrowhead Game Studios may have already beaten the all-time peaks of both 343 Industries and Bungie, but Pocketpair is still standing in thewaywith the extraordinary peak of 2,101,867 players. However, this was recorded 23 days ago, when theHelldiverssequel was not even out yet, and considering the fact that the game had more in-game players thanPalworldat the time of writing, this speaks volumes.

With Pocketpair’s players decreasing and Arrowhead’s community growing with each passing minute, the latter has actually managed to surpass the former thanks to a higher number of concurrent players.

All it has to do now is reach the all-time peak ofPalworld, which may not be too difficult to pull off if things keep going this smoothly for Arrowhead.

But the current rise in online multiplayer shooters will never really appeal to his old-school self.
