Arrowhead Studios cannot seem to catch a break with issues that often arise with their latestHelldivers 2. Available exclusively on PC and PS5, the game has been received greatly by the fans, but ever since its launch in February, it has seen a few challenges, starting with difficulties revolving around the game servers.

Following its not-so-smooth ride to success, the developers of the game are now facing another issue as the player base complains about how the fire in the game might just be too hot, and how it needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

Why Fire Might Just Be The Greatest Enemy InHelldivers 2

While the fight against intergalactic species looking to take down Super Earth might just not be over yet, there is a new unexpected contender in the ring more dangerous than anyone the players have seen before. Following a balance update, fire and correlating weapons such as flamethrowers have become a force to be reckoned with.

Players in-game would have noticed by now how easy it is to get eliminated when they interact with fire whether it be a flamethrower holding Automatons units or fire tornadoes that spawn on several instances on some planets. This is proving to be quite a nuisance to the players, as while some mightnot be able to use the damage-over-time mechanicof flamethrowers, they are still getting burned to crisp within the blink of an eye.

Following the reports from the player complaining about the issue in the game’sofficial Discord server, the community manager for Arrowhead Studios, Twinbeard, revealed the real cause behind what was causing fire to be overpowered in-game as noted byPCgamesN.

Helldivers 2Community Manager Explains The Reason Behind Fire’s Dominance In-Game

As stated before, Twinbeard through the official Discord server of the game agreed with players that the current state of fire damage in-game is ridiculous and needed fixing. Talking about the real cause of why such was the case, he revealed how the studio is currently looking forward to reworking the mechanic as a whole, including Damage per Second (DPS), Damage Over Time (DOT), “The host thingie“, and not dying just after you have come in contact with fire.

Unfortunately, a fixed timeline for when the issue will finally be resolved was not given yet. However, Twinbeard did mention how the process of reworking the whole mechanic needed to be elaborate and hence, will be done in parts, which essentially means it can be some time before we see a total change to how fire works in the game.
