Today is the latest installment of “someone asked the internet what they should name a thing”, and though the vote isn’t over yet… yes it is, come on. Look at those numbers. You thought Helldivers playerscould be normal?
As a bit of backstory, the city in question here was once called “Remembrance” - and as a major site ofthe Illuminate’s invasion of Super Earth, it broke a little bit. But it got better! Efforts to rebuild the city have been underway, and as part of it all, it’ll be given a new name.
Through glorious Democracy, players of Helldivers 2 have been able to pick their favorite option and leave their mark on the world. Names other than Gun were, of course, put forward. But none of them were “Gun”, so they all suck.

“New Remembrance”? Old, trite. 6.1% of the vote for you, we move on. “Winds of Change of Tides of War”? It earns a good chuckle, but brevity is the soul of wit. 2.4%, leave it behind.
Right now, the only other contender for the city’s new name is “Everlasting Memory” - the idea of just making “Remembrance” more verbose has earned 18.3% of the vote, and… yeah it’s not even close. “Gun”, our ever-reliable Gun - it’s got over 70% of the vote, and will win with near certainty.

That’s currently the top comment on the biggest post discussing the vote, and it’s a beacon that stands alone as yet more Gunspam can be found if you just scroll a little southward.
