What Happened Previously In Hell’s Paradise?

Gabimaru was confronted by Yamada Asaemon Fuchi and Tamiya Gantetsusai, who questioned his worn-out condition. Fuchi suggested gathering information from Gabimaru without killing him. Surprising them, Gabimaru requested an alliance and revealed the existence of Lord Tensen. Fuchi and Gantetsusai agreed to partner up, aiming to reach Horai and confront Lord Tensen. Mei, who instantly started looking a bit older and started talking, hinted at the power to defeat Lord Tensen, known as Tao. As they discussed Tao, they encountered the Soshin, and Gabimaru spotted a new monster in the distance, looking different than the usual monsters.

While discussing the Elixir of Life, Senta presented his theory and stated that the island of Horai was home to a concoction of various religions and cultures. He theorized that there had to be someone who created the island and only allowed the transformed humans to return to the mainland, which hinted at the possibility of the Elixir of Life and a safe way out of the place. Yuzuriha questioned their ability to defeat enemies, but Sagiri believed Gabimaru was alive and driven by the desire to reunite with his wife. Hoko introduced the concept of Tao, which granted god-like powers to Tensen, which they harnessed through the Yin-Yang.
