Recently an older tweet from the original webcomic’s author Alice Oseman resurfaced. The post contained fan art of the two characters depicted as popular members of the Young Avengers. Fans noticed the resemblance and quickly started to speculate if Conner would be joining his co-star in upcoming Marvel projects.

This is when a 2019 tweet from Oseman resurfaced, that depicted her webcomic’s characters as Wiccan and Hulkling. With his co-star already making his Marvel debut, fans were quick to theorize that Connor would also allegedly follow in his footsteps.

Marvel fans commented online, anticipating the iconic pairing of the Young Avengers finally making their appearance. They also noticed a strong resemblance between the actors and the fan art of the young heroes, further convincing them of the fact.
This could be Marvel’s chance to fulfill fan’s wishes and also introduce the Young Avengers in the upcoming phase. Locke and Connor have previously proven their chemistry through Euros Lyn’s teen drama, so their dynamic would lead to a greater chance of success.
The upsetting denial: Lost hopes?
Unfortunately, contrary to the viewers’ opinion the actor in question did not agree with the fan cast. Connor spoke to Omelete in an interview, translated from Portuguese byComic Book Movie, about the circulating rumors.

I don’t think I would be a good choice for Hulkling, to be honest, I think people would get tired of seeing me and Joe together eventually, if we kept doing this over the next few years.
TheRocketmanactor claimed he wasn’t on board with his fan’s decision and wouldn’t make a good Hulkling. He also praised his co-star’s performance in the Marvel show, stating he was proud of the fame Locke was achieving.
Locke portrayed Teen in theKathryn Hahnstarrer which fans are sure is just a cover for his actual identity as Wiccan. However, with his co-star’s refusal to play his romantic interest, it’s unclear of the pair’s potential future with Marvel.
