Resilience, faith, and strong will are common themes in Shonen anime, especially with respect to major characters. Naruto, written by Masashi Kishimoto, is one of the few Shonen anime that encourages people to dream. Apart from the titular character, several others had dreams of their own.

Obito Uchiha is one such character who represents ambition, kindness, and a strong sense of justice. While the culmination of events in the series shapes him as an antagonist, his beginnings prove otherwise. Several fans speculations state that he would have changed the whole course of the storyline if given a chance to be a Hokage.
Obito Uchiha’s return to Konoha would trigger a shift in the narrative
InNaruto Shippuden, written byMasashi Kishimoto, Obito Uchiha dies while saving Kakashi from a boulder. However, as the story unfolds, the truth behind Tobi’s identity and the occurrences of the Kannabi bridge mission comes out.
The author reveals him to be alive. In an alternate Naruto timeline, if he returns to Konoha, he will be hailed as a war hero. Considering his ideals and virtues, power and hatedidn’t consume him.

“Naruto has the weakest writing of the Big 3”: Masashi Kishimoto Will Rue the Day He Wrote Obito, Itachi, Jiraiya to One Day Face Such an Unfair Criticism
If he were to return to Konoha, he would train under Minato and have the villagers’ backing. Although he would train under Minato, he would still have to prove his loyalty as a Uchiha, as this user pointed out on Reddit.
Besides that, Obito wasn’t bound to the Uchiha clan ideology like most characters were, as pointed out by this Reddit user.

However, Obito’s return to Konoha in an alternate timeline also points to the possibility of the Uchiha clan being absolved of guilt, punishment, and the discrimination they faced in the past.
Obito Uchiha would be the first Hokage from Uchiha clan
It is no surprise that Obito originally wanted to be a Hokage but given the original timeline of events; he lives alife of tragedy and immense loss. From growing up alone to witnessing Rin’s death, his fate and end are truly devastating.
In an alternate timeline, if Obito Uchiha becomes the Hokage, he’d be able to bridge the gap between the Uchiha clan and the Konoha village. This would improve the perception of the people toward the clan since Uchihas have been subject to hate for centuries because of their connection with the curse of hatred.

Madara Uchiha Used a Forbidden Genjutsu to Turn Obito into a Traitor
Obito’s role as a Hokage would be beneficial for the Uchiha clan. Be it Danzo or Second Hokage, the Uchiha clan is subject tohate and racial discriminationthroughout the series. With his role as the village’s shadow, Obito can improve the clan’s relationship with the village, as this Reddit user points out.
However, this would not stop Danzo from attempting a coup because of his immense hatred toward Uchiha. Although Danzo could trigger the Uchiha clan massacre through Itachi in the original timeline, he would be incapacitated because of Minato’s support for Obito as this user pointed out.

Obito Uchiha as a Hokage in an alternate timeline of Naruto is truly promising. While he meets his tragic end and accepts his fate, his humble beginnings as a compassionate and kind shinobi cannot be overlooked. Apart from that, his strength and vision as a Hokage would completely shift the village’s perception of the Uchiha clan.
