Indiana Jones and the Great Circleis set to be released later this holiday season for the Xbox Series X/S, Game Pass, and PC. The gaming community was delighted to see this upcoming project receive a solid release date during this year’s Gamescom; however, the late PlayStation 5 port announcement did not sit well with the Xbox community.

The gaming community is not a fan of being lied to, and what transpired during Gamescom 2024 was a total breach of trust. Fans are ready to add another broken promise to Phil Spencer’s massive pile, and it is not funny anymore.
Fans Felt Betrayed After the Recent Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PlayStation 5 Port
TheXboxplatform is not doing too well in the first-party exclusives department, and the gaming community assumed this would be addressed after Phil Spencer’s aggressive acquisition spree to bolster the library of first-party content. It is understandable if most loyal Microsoft advocates are upset aboutthe PlayStation 5 port ofIndiana Jones and the Great Circle.
The issue was never about sharing the game with rival platforms; the fans are upset because theyfelt let down by Phil Spencer. Spencer held an emergency podcast to clarify that there will be no PlayStation 5 ports for upcoming major projects from Bethesda Game Studios, including theIndiana Jonesgame andStarfield, only to see it announced on this year’s Gamescom.

Destin Legarie (IGN) says he’s not “mad” that Indiana Jones will come to PS5 after a short Xbox time exclusivity. But he feels “misled” by Phil Spencer.»Of course Phil knew in February a [PS5 version] had to be in development. Game companies don’t just hit “save file as PS5”.«pic.twitter.com/gk02thKOXI
The gaming community has noticed a pattern in Spencer’s claims that never sees the light of day. Fans believed the aggressive acquisition spree was meant to improve the ranks of first-party exclusives; however, it doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.Spencer claimed only four games would be sharedwith PlayStation and Nintendo until it spiraled out of control and snowballed.

He looks like he’s been crying for hours 💀💀💀💀
Fans are making fun of Legarie’s explanation. The video itself was him rambling about his thoughts and expressing his disappointment.

Spencer would have been aware of a PlayStation 5 port in development alongside the native Xbox and PC versions. Perhaps Spencer is out of options, and instead of spoiling the surprise or nightmare for the Microsoft player base, he kept quiet and waited for the backlash at Gamescom 2024.
