Gyokko’s True Form Revealed In Demon Slayer Season 3, Episode 9

After a heated discussion between the Demon and the Demon Slayer, Gyokko was enraged, especially after hearing Muichiro berating him and his art. We have already seen his attacks like Thousand Needle Fish Kill, Water Prison Pot, and Octopus Vase Hell, and this time, he attacked Muichiro with his Ten Thousand Gliding Slime-Fish attack, which unleashed countless deadly fish from multiple pots. No doubt, the attack was a deadly one, but Muichiro was far too potent to be injured by it. Using his Sixth Form: Lunar Dispersing Mist, Muichiro managed to slash through all the fish in an instant. And to evade the poison spread in the aftermath of the attack, Muichiro used Third Form: Scattering Mist Splash, and removed all the poison by rotating his sword at an incredible speed.

This was when Gyokko opted for the last resort against the Mist Hashira and turned into his true form, called,Killer Fish Scales. In his true form, Gyokko’s body became incredibly tough, and his speed and attacks were enhanced as well. Also, his tail enlarged, looking similar to a snake. In this form, anything that Gyokko touches would turn into a fish, as shown in the latest episode. Gyokko’s so-called “beautiful form” might be a menace for normal humans or other Demon Slayers, but Muichiro didn’t struggle to defeat Gyokko in his true form. With one clean sweep, Gyokko was beheaded, ending his reign of terror forever.

Demon Slayer Fans React To Gyokko’s True Form

Well, to be honest, fans were quite disappointed at Gyokko’s abilities as an Upper Moon 5 Demon. Compared to the other fights we have seen in the series so far, the battle between Gyokko and Muichiro was unsatisfactory. Most fans complained about the battle not being a struggling one, as Muichiro was able to defeat an Upper Rank 5 without breaking a sweat. On the other hand, many fans complained that Gyokko was just too weak to be given that rank, claiming that Daki and Gyutaro should have been Upper Rank 5 instead.

Some fans didn’t fail to compare Gyokko with Hantengu, appreciating the latter being a better and more fascinating villain. The Tweet stated that the time spent on Muichiro and Gyokko throughout the season have come to just one attack, which makes it feel like a waste of time.

Gyokku and his true form might have come as a disappointment for some, but now fans are counting on the battle with Hantengu for the redemption of the jaw-dropping climax they expect from Demon Slayer battles.
