Almost a year after the launch ofGrand Theft Auto 5, the game’s lead producer and game designer, Leslie Benzies, left Rockstar Games and founded an indie studio a few years later to work on a brand new open-world game called “Everywhere.”
Since then we haven’t seen or heard anything official from Leslie Benzies and his team aboutEverywhere. Only a few years earlier, we have been informed by the game’s official Twitter account that it is being built on Unreal Engine, and NetEase has also invested a significant amount of money in the project.
Hopefully, we got some more information on the game’s concept and genre recently, thanks to a discovery by afan page on Twitter.
Everywhere Is an Open-World AAA Multiplayer Game With an Epic Multi-Chapter Story
According to aLinkedIn postby Galaxy Interactive, an investor in Build a Rocket Boy, the studio behindEverywhere, the game is supposed to be a “Real-Life” Ready Player One. As the Job listing explains,Everywhereis “an open-world AAA game with a multiplayer experience incorporating a multi-chapter epic narrative, user-generated content through a “virtual sandbox” where players can create their own worlds, and deep social and streaming integrations.”
This definition already sounds like nothing we have seen or played so far, but before getting hyped about it, we need to see some trailers from the game as well.
Regarding how experienced and successful Leslie Benzies was with theGrand Theft Autoseries, it is easy to trust him to lead a brand new open-world IP, and this project looks like a really ambitious game.
Currently, there is no official release window forEverywhere. We don’t even know when the game will be showcased for the first time. Build a Rocket Boy was founded in 2018, and if we take it as the beginning year ofEverywhere’s development process, the game has been in the works for 4 years now.
