After the Golden Globes, it’s time for the 76th DGA Awards. The Directors Guild of America announced its film nominations for the 2024 DGA Awards on Wednesday. For their outstanding directorial achievement, the DGA nominated five directors.

Among the others, one is Greta Gerwig for her brilliance withBarbie. It’s a movie that shattered all box office records. The movie has made Gerwig the highest-grossing female director of a live-action movie.Barbiehas grossed $636 million in North America and $1.4 billion worldwide.

Greta Gerwig Gets Nominated for the Best Feature Film Director at the DGA Awards
The filmmaker behind the successfulBarbiemovie, which has recently won the first-ever Golden Globe for cinematic and box-office success, is getting a nomination for yet another major award.
As DGA has announced their nominations representing the best in directing for 2023,Greta Gerwigwill be competing against other visionary filmmakers who made 2023 a critically and commercially hit year.

The four other directors nominated for the top DGA Award are Christopher Nolan forOppenheimer, Yorgos Lanthimos forPoor Things, Alexander Payne forThe Holdoversand Martin Scorsese forKillers of the Flower Moon.
“In a year full of so many extraordinary films, DGA members have nominated an incredible group of gifted storytellers,” DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter said on itswebsite. “Their films fused technical prowess with unique artistic visions that captured the depth of the human experience and left an indelible impact on audiences around the world.”

Earlier,Barbiereceived four nominations, including nods for its cast at the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards. The 2024 DGA Awards will be handed out on Saturday, February 10, at the Beverly Hilton.
