Let’s get the best out of the way first. After a year of forcing players to pick between range or rate of fire (unless they lucked upon an AK-308),Gray Zone Warfare is adding its first semi-automatic marksman rifle.
The star of patch 0.3 is none other than the Dragunov sniper rifle, or SVD for short. This 7.62x54mmR rifle entered Soviet service in 1963, and remains one of the most loved marksman rifles to this day.
From the same parts, the classic Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle will be available in its carbine version, removing the ability to mount the PU scope.
After a year of being available in Gunny’s storefront, the Glock 17 will now be locked at higher levels. Taking its place is the legendary Beretta M9A1, which is less customizable but also comes with a flashlight mount under the barrel.
Alsojoining the handgun lineup is the Colt Commando, a more compact and modular version of the M1911 pistol chambered in .45 ACP.

There is only one assault rifle coming with patch 0.3, but it makes up for it in quality.The update will introduce the SIG MCX,boasting incredible modularity, a high rate of fire, and introducing .300 Blackout ammunition to the game.
In keeping with real life,.300 Blackout rounds will be considerably more expensive than 5.56x45mm NATO. The developers confirmed that it will later be possible to change caliber by swapping out the barrel, but this ability will not be present in patch 0.3.
Last but certainly not least is the addition of a third submachine gun to the game, complementing the vz.61 Škorpion and the H&K MP5.
Chambered in 4.6x30mm,the H&K MP7 is sometimes touted as a ‘needle gun’, but it provides improved armor penetration over the MP5’s 9x19mm, and deals similar tissue damage due to its unstable behavior.
Gray Zone Warfare patch 0.3 Winds of War is expected to come out before June 2025, though an exact date is not available.
