In a report fromPolygon, an iOS beta for Google Stadia is coming soon. Google has also detailed some pre-order bonuses forCyberpunk 2077and other upcoming games.
Within the next couple of weeks, Google will roll out the iOS beta through a web app. Doing it this way lets Google get past Apple’s rules on cloud gaming on theApp Store. Other services like Microsoft’s xCloudaren’t on iOSdue to similar restrictions from Apple. Additionally, the upcomingAmazon Lunawill also come to iOS but through a web app as well. An article fromThe Vergealso points out that Nvidia is rolling out a similar web app plan for its GeForce Now service.
As the one year anniversary of Google Stadia comes up, we’ve gotten some news on upcoming incentives for users. Starting today,Destiny 2: Beyond Lightwill be free for Stadia players. IO Interactive’s Hitman 3, which doesn’t release till January 2021, will be the first Stadia game to use State Share. For those that don’t know, State Share is a new feature that lets users play content seen in YouTube videos or screenshots. So basically if you’re watching a streamer play a game, Stadia users can jump to that specific point.
For players who preordered the Stadia version ofCyberpunk 2077, you’ll have a chance to get Stadia Premiere Edition for free. This edition includes a Stadia controller and Google Chromecast Ultra which is normally $99.99. This deal goes from now till December 18, just eight days afterCyberpunkreleases.
