There is no doubt that Taylor Swift stands as one of the most prominent figures in the music industry. Her remarkable journey to the pinnacle has made a lasting impact on her fans. It is simply rare to find someone worldwide who hasn’t at least heard of Taylor Swift, but she is by no means a perfect person. Even then, she is a celebrity – which has become a double-edged sword now. Now, it appears Swify took legal action against a user who tried to expose her massive CO2 emissions.

The pop music sensation has built a career by producing music that connects with fans worldwide, ranging from teenage girls to fully grown adults. While her dedicated fanbase can become a bit too brazen and outrageous at times, those who hate her go to extreme lengths to hurt her. This includes a user who tried to expose her CO2 emissions while using her jet all the time.

Taylor Swift Takes Legal Action Against User Who Tried To Expose Her CO2 Emissions
According toTMZ,Taylor Swift’slegal team sent a cease and desist letter to Jack Sweeney, a University of Central Florida student who tracked celebrity jets online. Sweeney, who used publicly available data from the FAA and amateur sources, had a dedicated page for tracking Taylor Swift’s private jet.
Following the legal intervention, the @taylorswiftjets account went dark. In the cease and desist letter, Swift’s attorneys warned Sweeney about the potential legal consequences if he continued the“stalking and harassing behavior.”They emphasized that Sweeney’s actions were jeopardizing Swift’s safety and well-being, causing emotional and physical distress.

The letter further states,“While this may be a game to you, or an avenue that you hope will earn you wealth or fame, it is a life-or-death matter for our Client.”One lawyer emphasized that there was “no legitimate interest in or public need for this information, other than to stalk, harass, and exert dominion and control.”
In response, Sweeney and his retained attorneys assert defiance, maintaining that he is not violating any laws and is merely sharing publicly available data. Despite attempting to create different Swift-tracking pages on major social media platforms, Sweeney has been banned by these companies for privacy rule violations.

While no lawsuit has been filed against him so far, Taylor Swift’s camp is issuing a strong threat of legal action if Sweeney persists in his activities. Despite the warning, he appears determined to continue.

Elon Musk Had His Own Fair Share Of CO2 Emission Controversies
According to an analysis from the Institute for Policy Studies and the Patriotic Millionaires, Elon Musk topped the list of private jet users among billionaires, leaving nearly 2,000 tonnes of carbon emissions in his wake.
The report, titledHigh Flyers 2023: How Ultra-Rich Private Jet Travel Costs the Rest of Us and Burns Up the Planet, reveals that Musk holds the title of the most active private jet user in the U.S. The report estimates that his travels consumed 837,934 litres of jet fuel and produced 2,112 tonnes of CO2 emissions in the previous year, which is 132 times that of the average American.

In response, the report recommends imposing a jet fuel tax on wealthy private jet owners, highlighting that private jets emit at least 10 times more pollutants per passenger than commercial planes. The report mentions that if the recommended transfer fee and jet fuel tax were implemented, Elon Musk would pay an additional $3.94 million in taxes.
