TheGod of Warfranchise has been around for the past few years and has undergone significant changes and overhauls in visuals and gameplay mechanics. The gaming community has been begging for a remake of the original trilogy and the chances are higher than ever.

Remakes and remasters have been a part of Sony’s campaign to preserve older titles but this has been a long time coming. Fans are convinced that all the work the developers put into recreating older assets and models into theValhallaDLC is a dead end and could be a hint of something bigger.
One God of War: Ragnarok Cameo Could Be a Sign of a Full Remake of Older Games
Santa Monica Studioscaught the entire gaming community off guard with the reveal of theValhallaDLC during last year’sThe Game Awards. No one saw it coming and it was the perfect expansion to showcase the advanced combat mechanics of the Norse Saga. The original creator envisioned playersto take on the role of a monster in the originalGod of Wartrilogyand later revamped the franchise in the best way possible.
The gaming community was confident that they had not seen the last of Kratos afterGod of War: Ragnarokand was surprised to see the developers add more story content. The guest appearance of Helios as a severed head and taking the place of Mimir was a pleasant surprise and to see this character from the past be reimagined into modern graphics gave fans hope of a full remake.

Although other characters like Zeus and Athena were featured in the previous game, they were either a mist or an apparition and nowhere near detailed like the deceased Sun God of Greek mythology. Helios served as a reminder of what Kratos has done in the past andhis capability for great violence.

The developers can choose to recreate the original trilogy with the same engine used in the Norse Saga and give the gaming community a smooth transition. Helios could be used as a trial along with theValhallaDLC featured locations and biomes inspired by Ancient Greece.
God of War Ragnarok DLC Could Pave the Way for a Remake Trilogy
It would be a shame to see these recreated assets underutilized. Naughty Dog did not hold back and remadeThe Last of Usfor the PS5, perhaps Santa Monica Studio could give these modern classics the same treatment.
“The only person that defeats Kratos…”: God of War Fan Believes 1 Villain Should and Could Defeat Kratos If He Got Out of his Own Way
The Norse Saga ended on a high note but the gaming community is still not ready to move on from the past. Kratos has been struggling to come to terms with his past deeds and once he accepted them, he became stronger and much more fulfilled.
While Santa Monica Studio should definitely consider this idea, there are additional rumors to suggest that Cory Barlog is working on asecret projectnot connected toGoW. Perhaps the studio has other smaller projects in active development too.

Helios appearing gave fans hope and the studio could answer their prayers. Would you like aGod of Warremake trilogy? Let us know in the comments section below!
