The creators of Friday the 13th and Predator: Hunting Ground, IllFonic, have announced that their 4 vs 1 multiplayer game Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, andPCon October 18th.
“Putting a date on and opening up preorders for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed feels like an out of body experience, and we cannot wait for everyone to feel the same sensation on Tuesday, October 18.â IllFonic CEO Charles Brungardt stated in a press release.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is now available to pre-order for $39.99 across all planned platforms. Players who pre-order the game will receive advance access to Slimer, a Custom Particle Thrower and Proton Pack, as well as special clothing colorways.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is a supernatural, action-adventure game in which you will team up with up to three players to track down a player-controller ghost. Particle Throwers and the P.K.E. Meter will assist you in capturing the ghost terrorizing civilians. The game features the museum and abandoned prison maps, each offering a different level of horror experience. Also keep in mind that ghosts will not be vulnerable against you, as they have the ability to use slime to stun Ghostbusters. Last but not least, they can summon minions to gain enough time to escape from hunters.
The upcoming multiplayer game was first revealed back in March as a “hunt or haunt” game. The developer team also confirmed that the game will support cross-play, meaning players from different platforms can chase the Ghosts together. Charles Brungardt stated in ablog postthat they aim to make those who love Ghostbusters movies and asymmetrical games happy with their new title.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has now a firm release date set for October 18th. The game will be exclusive to Epic Store on the PC platform while it will also launch forXboxand Playstation consoles. Players can expect to see the first gameplay reveal for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed at Gamescom 2022.
