Developer miHoYo has announced an all-new character that will be a part of the 3.7 update inGenshin Impact, just a couple of days before the release of the 3.6 Update. In a new post on its officialTwitteraccount, Genshin Impact has revealed Kirara, the new character set to join the game’s ever-expanding roster. Kirara will be a 4-star character wielding a Sword, and it will be the first time that we will get a Dendro character hailing from the Inazuma region. Previously, we have seen several characters from the Sumeru region, the latest region added to the game, as well as one character, Baizhu, from the Liyue region.

While fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Kirara thanks to the various leaks which revealed significant chunks of information about the upcoming character, miHoYo staying true to its nature has made several changes to Kirara since the earliest data-mined leaks. It was speculated that Kirara would be a Geo character and would be a Bow user, but miHoYo has seemingly switched up things at the last moment and dropped another Dendro character for fans.
Kirara’s reveal has already got fans hyped, as the community seemed to have liked her appearance quite a bit. Kirara shares a similar hybrid look to Gorou, Klee, Diona, and others, featuring cat ears. What’s notable is her other features as well, as she has two tails and paws, giving her more of a cat resemblance as compared to other characters released previously. With the popularity catgirls enjoy in the anime community, it is a no-brainer that a lot of players are going to pull for this character.
After a few disappointing banners, it seems like miHoYo is slowly getting back on track and aligning its plans more with community feedback. As per leaks, the likes of Yoimiya, Yae, Kazuha, and Al-Haytham are already in the fray for reruns next month. There is still over a month to go for the update to release, so we will likely see more information released between now and then.
