Jujutsu Kaisenseason 2 saw a lot of deaths of major characters like Kento Nanami and Mahito. However, the one death that hurt the fans the most was Nobara Kugisaki. While many believe that Nobara might still make a comeback in the final battle, the condition she was in after her fight with Mahito indicates that she may be dead.

Nobara Kugisaki

Her death may seem like a sad event in the storyline ofJujutsu Kaisen, but according to one theory, it was a logical step that Gege Akutami took to make the final battle against the King of Curses, Sukuna, more prolonged and interesting. The reason behind this is her cursed technique.

Her cursed technique is probably the most unique ability seen inJujutsu Kaisen, and because of that, her involvement in the battle would have proved to be a big advantage for the sorcerers, and would have helped them defeat Sukuna pretty easily, which would, in a way, hurt Itadori Yuji’s role as the main character.

How Does Nobara Kugisaki’s Cursed Technique Work?

Nobara’s innate technique is divided into three, which, if used correctly, can become a big problem for her opponent. Her first technique is called the Straw Doll technique, which works like a voodoo doll. She uses the straw doll to form a connection with her opponent, and when it’s completed, she can lay critical damage on her opponent, even from a distance.

Another technique in her arsenal is the Resonance technique. This technique is an extension of her Straw Doll technique, and it helps her resonate her attack with the help of nails and the straw doll, making it more severe and terrifying. In her fight with Mahito, she used her Resonance technique to cause significant damage to Mahito.

The final technique is called Hairpin, which might be a bit risky but is the most effective. For this technique to work, Nobara needs to strike her opponents with her cursed energy-imbued nails. Once this is done, she can focus on the cursed energy around the nail to expand and blow up, causing the nail-stricken limb to explode like a bomb.

Jujutsu KaisenTheory Suggests Nobara Would Have Easily Defeated Sukuna

According to a fan account @NORBOLOGY on X (Formerly Twitter), Nobara’s technique would have made the fight against Sukuna too easy. This is because her cursed technique can hit the soul directly with the help of Resonance. This would have proved to be a big problem for the King of Curses.

im starting to understand why gege did what he did cause a fully realised nobara would’ve been too much for storypic.twitter.com/lHrOOdprT2

The theory states that if Nobara had been in the battle, she could have connected with Megumi’s soul and boosted his consciousness. This would have forced Sukuna’s consciousness to leave Megumi’s body, and the threat of the King of Curses would have ended too quickly.

However, it would have hurt Yuji Itadori’s image as the main character ofJujutsu Kaisen. As seen in the recent chapters, Yuji Itadori has also developed a technique that allows him to connect with other people’s souls, but he has not mastered it.

Thus, it would have given Nobara a chance to end the battle, taking away the limelight from Itadori. This is whyGege Akutamineeded to eliminate Nobara Kugisaki fromJujutsu Kaisen.
