Unlike recent updates, today’s new Fortnite patch won’t include a plethora of new content, changes, and cosmetic items for players to check out. Instead, the studio has decided to grant players' requests before the summer holidays and release a new Reload Duos mode. After the huge success of the mode last week, fans were eager to jump in with their Duo, as opposed to the previously available Quads mode.

Fortnite Confirms Server Downtime For June 27
Yesterday, Epic Games took to the official Fortnite Status X (formerly Twitter) accountto announcethat the game’s servers would be taken down for a small update on June 27. The news came as a surprise to many, as it was justlast weekend that fans received the v30.10 updateon PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PC, and Android.
Thankfully, today’s server downtime isn’t likely to be as long as it usually is, as today’s update is only a small one. While there’s no confirmation on exactly how long Fortnite servers will be down for, Epic Games has confirmed that downtime will begin at1AM PT / 4AM ET / 9AM BST, with matchmaking being disabled 30 minutes beforehand.
Due to the downtime, Epic has also confirmed that it has rescheduled both the Duos Cash Cup and Zero Build Duos Cash Cups in OCE and Asia. Both Cash Cups will now take place on Friday, June 28. Players can check the ‘Compete’ tab in-game after the downtime ends to see the new start times in their region.

ORIGINAL STORY:We’re still waiting for Epic Games to release the official patch notes for today’s update, but given that this is not a major content update like last week’s patch, Epic might not even release the full changelog for the update.
But, with that being said, we do know that today’s patch will allow players to jump into the new Reload mode as a Duo. When the mode launched last week, it was only available to play in Quads, but Epic Games quickly heard the outcry from fans and will now be adding a new Duos mode to the rotation later today.
While Epic has confirmed that Fortnite will receive a new update at 4AM ET, the studio noted thatReload Duos will not be released until 9AM ET on June 27.
Should the studio release any further details, such as a list of bug fixes included in today’s update, we will be sure to update this article.
