Aside from theinitial announcementby Sucker Punch Productions last year, there’s not a lot of info known about Ghost of Yotei; the sequel to the best-selling samurai open-world action game, Ghost of Tsushima.

While it looks like we’ll be waiting for more info on it, there is someone who has played the game already that’s not a developer at Sucker Punch.

10 Best Games Like Ghost of Tsushima

Fans of Ghost of Tsushima are itching for the recently announced sequel. In the meantime, these are great games to check out that would be similar.

Ghost of Yotei Will Make You Forget You’re Holding A Controller

The person who managed to play Ghost of Yotei before we even got our first gameplay showcase? It’s none other than former Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida.

Yoshida retired from Sony after 30 years of service last year and has since given countless interviews, giving his thoughts on various video game topics. Speaking in theEasy Allies podcast, Yoshida revealed he has already played Ghost of Yotei, stating, “Every time I played Ghost of Yotei, it seemed polished. The controls feel natural, and it’s like you forget you’re holding a gamepad.”

That sounds like genuine and precise praise! Based on what Yoshida said, Ghost of Yotei seems to be following—or even better than—Tsushima’s controls, which were no slouch either.

Sucker Punch Claims Ghost of Yotei Is More Than Just A Ghost of Tsushima Sequel

Ghost of Yotei is the next game to come after the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima, and it will be more than a sequel according to Sucker Punch.

Sony hasn’t mentioned when we’ll be seeing more of Ghost of Yotei, though I presume it will be soon, given it is supposed to be released before the year ends. With Marathon releasing in September, and the chances of Ghost of Yotei dropping without much fanfare in the next few months are slim, I am guessing that it’ll be revealed sometime in the next 2-3 months, with a release set for October.

Aside from the reveal, the only new gameplay information we know about the sequel is that it will allow thegame’s protagonist to dual-wield blades, which is something we never got to do in Ghost of Tsushima.

In Ghost of Yotei, we have a new protagonist in Atsu, as the game is set 300 years after the events of the first game. The samurai game’s plot is mentioned as “Filled with fury and determination, Atsu will hunt down those responsible for the death of her family and exact her revenge. Every odd job and bounty will provide the coin she needs for her journey. But how she fights, survives, and evolves the legend of the Ghost will be up to you.”
