How To Disable Chadley & Mai From Talking In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Since there’s no option to directly toggle off Chadley and Mai’s incessant interruptions during exploration and monster battles, players have had to get creative in the settings, and one user shared their findings on the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthsubreddit.
The best way to disable the bots from talking is in two parts: first, navigate toGame Options, selectAudio, and finally set theTransmission Dialogue Playback DevicetoController.
The second part of this process requires you to access thePS5 Settings, selecttheSoundmenu, thenVolume, and reduce theController Speakervolume to0.
Since Chadley and Mai’s voices can primarily be heard through transmission, this process essentially redirects all transmission dialogue through the PS5 controller. Once the bots' voices are set to infiltrate the controller’s speaker, reducing the volume of the controller output in your PS5 settings to zero will essentially mute all of their transmission chatter and leave you in peace to explore the open world without a running commentary.

How To Skip Chadley’s Calls In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Unfortunately, the transmissions from Chadley and Mai aren’t the only frustrating interruptions you’ll receive from the bots. After acquiring the CHAD module, Cloud will also receive several calls from Chadley throughout gameplay, updating the merc on the cyborg’s research progress.
Thankfully, there’s a way to race through Chadley’s dialogue when he calls you by holding downTriangle. You can also skip through each line of Chadley’s dialogue during the phone call by hittingCircle.
Since Chadley and Mai cannot be removed from gameplay, these options are the closest players can get to silencing the pesky bots - even though they’re only trying to begood companions. Some fans have shared that Chadley’s larger role in Rebirth is a cute addition, but most agree the cyborg’s input is overkill and takes away some of the magic. If only you couldpressure and staggerthe bots into silence completely.
One Reddit user and Rebirth player said: “I just hate how it interrupts the whole flow of the game by stopping your character. It really ruins the immersion for me being constantly disengaged from the game.” Another touched on their frustration when Mai chimes in during battle: “Seriously, listen, MAI, when I’m trying to avoid being impaled by this monster, I’m not quite so interested in its breeding habits. So let me review it later!”
With so many fans complaining about Chadley and Mai, hopefully,Square Enixwill decide to listen to the fandom’s call and include the ability to disable their chat within an upcoming patch.
