Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreemay throw some of the toughest boss fights in players’ faces, but at least they can see it coming. Well, most of the time. Other times, they don’t even know what hit them.

One such incident has been shared by a player on Reddit, and the community has strongly empathized by sharing their own experiences. From delayed animations to invisible attacks, everything and anything can be a threat in the Land of Shadow it seems.
Did Not See That Coming? It’s Not Your Fault
Understanding, learning, and fighting throughElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree’sbosses is difficult as is. Add to that the many bugs and glitches players come across and it makes things a bit more unbearable.
“Pretty funny…”: Elden Ring DLC’s Reveal May Have Changed the Perception of One of the Darkest Parts of the Base Game into a Joke
Such has been the experience of user nmunro14 on Reddit, who noticed how the Divine Beast Dancing Lion barely even touched the player, and they could already notice a drop in health.
The post ignited a series of comments that share similar experiences. For some players, certain enemy types manage to hurt the players’ HP before the animation even shows up properly. For others, it’s difficult to register where exactly the damage came from.

Despite the different contexts, one thing remains the same: if you’re expectingElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreeto have a high skill ceiling, well it’s time to raise the bar much, much higher.
“Bug or Feature?” – The Age-Old Elden Ring Question
Bring it a thousand awards and call it“the game of the century”all you want, but that’s not fixing problems. Particularly when it comes to bugs and glitches that aren’t supposed to be part of the game’s difficulty level.
“Made it look like a Sekiro boss fight”: SunhiLegend Makes Elden Ring’s Difficult Boss Look Like Beginner Difficulty in Ridiculous Show of Skills
In the past, many have pointed out how thegame’s overall boss design has declined in quality, but others simply ignore this by looking at it with those rose-tinted glasses. After all, it’s FromSoftware we’re talking about.
Even with the hitbox and moveset problems, gamers continue to love the game. There are plenty of good reasons for this, but this shouldn’t encourage the studio to overlook problems. Rather, it needs to be a point of criticism and reason to make the game better.

Problems like these also paint a bad picture of things that are actually great. For instance, the Reddit post talks about the Divine Beast Dancing Lion boss fight which in itself is a wonderful experience. But due to problems with the hitbox, players might now have a bitter aftertaste regarding it all.
