Fallout 76 is Heading to Steam Alongside Wastelanders Update in April

TheWastelanders update forFallout 76was heralded by Bethesda as a savior of sorts for the game whenit was revealed at E3 2019. As you likely know,Fallout 76whydespised by manyupon its launch due to lots of technical and just stripping away a lot of mechanics that were intrinsic toFallout.TheWastelandersupdate is supposed to inject some life back into the game by finally adding dialogue options, NPCs and more. It was originally pegged for a Fall 2019 release, but Bethesda delayedFallout 76: Wastelandersinto 2020back in October. Today, they revealed when it will finally arrive.

Fallout 76: Wastelanderswill finally hit all platforms for free on April 7. Additionally, Bethesda will finally be bringing the game to Steam on that day as well. Many were disappointed at launch because the PC version ofFallout 76was only available on Bethesda.net, soFallout 76will likely be able to broaden its audience when it hits Steam.

Bethesda also used this opportunityto recapwhat exactly is included inFallout 76: Wastelanders. The original main quest for the game has been “revamped” and an entirely new main quest has been added. These quests feature the return of human NPCs, and a dialogue system with a heavy focus on choice and reputation, evokingFallout 3andNew Vegas, will serve as the backbone ofWastelanders.
