The upcoming weapons changes toWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2threatens to affect the immense success that the title has been enjoying since its launch. As many fearthis could be Helldivers 2 all over again.
During theirfirst Q&Afor the game, Focus Home Interactive talked about a wide variety of topics, including balancing.

The Air Grab In Space Marine 2 Looks Ridiculously Badass
Pluck a Tyranid from the air, then rip and tear. Simple.
Our main worry is that the developer team will nerf some of the badass guns in the game. If you followHelldivers 2news, you’ll remember the disastrous impact the company’sbalancing choiceshad on the game’s popularity.

Here’s one of the comments that stood out to us:
At the moment we are checking the most common topics such as melee balancing, shock grenades, bulwark & heavy being too present in capture game modes. Expect some tweaks in the first big content patch but not before.
While we agree that some changes are required, we and other Warhammer Grimdorks are afraid that certain weapons will beweakened to the point that we won’t be able to use them for years to come.

Less Nerfs, More Buffs!
Just to be clear,Focus Home Interactivedid imply that certain weapons are underpowered. Theyhighlighted the Bolt Rifle and Assault Class as lacking.
Nevertheless, the community didn’t want to hearany of that. To understand what we’re talking about,a Reddit thread titled"We Don’t Need Nerfs, We Need Buffs" gained more than 2,000 upvotes in 24 hours.

In other words, they might as well buff the entireSpace Marine 2arsenal, because feeling like a demi-god warlord is a lot harder when your weapons don’t pack a punch.

Lieutenant Titus Has Never Looked Better
Other tidbits from Q&A included the developers' mention that the addition ofnew weaponsand appropriate finishers would also be cool. We also likedthat Focus Home will add spawn protection, which has been a major issue so far.
We learned from the entire conversation that the company isserious about player feedback. Basedon what we know, this sets the basis for a successful, long-lasting product.
