The Straw Hat Pirates in Eiichiro Oda’sOne Pieceare known for a lot of brilliant achievements, be it defeating an Emperor of the Sea or challenging the World Government. However, one special achievement that is specific to only a few of the members of the Straw Hat crew is their alcohol tolerance. And the one character who is known to hold his alcohol is Roronoa Zoro.

The swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates loves his alcohol and has been observed enjoying the drink on multiple occasions. As almost every arc ofOne Pieceends with a grand party, Zoro is always seen with a bottle of alcohol, preferably sake, having a good time. However, this has now become a competition among the Straw Hat crew.
And just like everything, Zoro has been pinned against his rival, the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, Vinsmoke Sanji. While Sanji is an occasional drinker, Oda has confirmed that he is not even close to beating Zoro when it comes to alcohol tolerance.

Zoro is Better at Handling Booze than Sanji
The mangaka recently shared the new Vivre Card data about the prominent characters ofOne Piece, especially the Straw Hat Pirates. This pack of information contains multiple things, ranging from their birthdays to the amount of time they take a bath. He has a deep love for the drink and is often compared to Luffy’s love for meat and Nami’s love for money. He prefers alcohol over almost everything and shares a special bond with it.
However, Sanji might not be as good as Zoro when it comes to alcohol tolerance.Eiichiro Odahas ranked him fifth out of the ten Straw Hat members, pointing out that he is way below Zoro. While there are lots of things where Zoro and Sanji have been competing since the beginning of the series, alcohol consumption is definitely not one of them.

Alcohol Tolerance of All the Members of the Straw Hat Pirates
TheOne Piecemangaka’s ranking for every Straw Hat member in terms of alcohol tolerance is pretty accurate. While Zoro ranks second and Sanji ranks fifth, the top spot has been grabbed by the newest member of the crew and the helmsman of the Thousand Sunny, Jinbe. Considering his age, it doesn’t come as a shock.
The third highestalcohol tolerancewithin the Straw Hat crew is that of the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates, Nami, and the fourth spot has been taken by the shipwright, Franky.
