When it comes to the world of anime,Attack on TitanandDemon Slayerare undoubtedly some of the top names that come to mind in terms of the best manga-based animated adaptations.

However, even they failed to appease the fans as much as one other manga-based project did, which is still winning the hearts of worldwide audiences.
This project is none other than one of the biggest fan-favorite manga, anime, and even live-action adaptations of all time,One Piece.

As it turned out, at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards that were held in 2023, Eiichiro Oda’sOne Piecemanaged to surpass even the best-est of the best-animated projects to win the Best Continuing Series accolade!

Everyone knewEiichiro Oda‘s mangaOne Piecewas one of the best mangas of all time, which even went on to get adapted into some of the most immersive fan-favorite projects in both the anime and the live-action field.

But some still doubted its chances to win against the heftiest of competitors likeAttack on Titan, andDemon Slayerwhen it came to a major award ceremony like Crunchyroll’s 7th Anime Awards held in March last year, 2023. And yet, it did.
In theBest Continuing Seriescategory, which notably chooses those series that have enough power to make a comeback on the screens with even more action than ever before but onlywithoutcompromising on the quality, a total of six series were nominated.

These wereAttack on TitanFinal Season Part 2,JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean,Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc,One Piece,Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, andKaguya-sama: Love Is War.
Yet, out of all these massively ranked series, it was Oda’sOne Pieceby Toei Animation that managed to leave everyone else behind to bag the accolade for theBest Continuing Seriesat Crunchyroll’s 7th Anime Awards, 2023.
Not only did it bring home yet another award to its already star-studded record, but it also set the bar even incredibly higher for all the other animes to surpass; even the most beloved fan-favorite series of all time.

AlthoughAttack on Titanmay have failed to beatOne Piecein the race to win the award for theBest Continuing Seriesat Crunchyroll’s 7th Anime Awards, 2023 — which is notably one of the most major awards — it managed to bag quite a few others instead.
This includes accolades in other categories, like theBest Opening Sequenceand theBest Anime Songof 2022 forThe Rumbling; theBest ScoreOverall and theBest Dramafor itsFinal Season Part 2; theBest VA Performance: Japanesefor Yuki Kaji, Eren Yeager inFinal Season Part 2; and theBest Main Characterfor Eren Jaeger.
Then there wasDemon Slayer, which scored awards in theBest Action,Best Fantasy, andBest Animationcategories forKimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc; and theBest Character Designcategory for Akira Matsushima forKimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc.
