A recent tweet from the officialTwitteraccount of 505 Games teases a new announcement is about to be made in partnership with Epic Games at this year’s The Game Awards ceremony. We do know that this project is going to take us to Rockay City, but nothing further has been shared yet.According to the teaser shared by 505 Games, which is a live-action teaser, a man pays a visit to Geoff Keighley’s secretary, giving her a wallet that contains a QR code. Users who have already scanned the code discovered that it redirects them to a website called “Visit Rockay City.”

When you open the link on a browser, it showcases a port in a city with skyscrapers, on one of which there is a day counter that shows we are going to get a full reveal on December 8. However, there is also a time counter on another skyscraper which showcases only 12 hours left from the time of writing this article. This time counter might be an indicator for a new teaser or maybe a new screenshot on the same domain, but the full announcement won’t arrive until The Game Awards 2022 showcase goes live.
As the domain invites us to visit Rockay City, it sounds like we are about to get a new open-world experience, that will likely be exclusive to Epic Games Store on PC as a boat on the image carries the badge of Epic Games Store.
Some players hope that this project might have some ties with theSleeping Dogsfranchise as it gives off similar vibes, but it’s a wild guess, and there is no real clue on that for now, especially knowing thatSquare Enixowns the publishing rights for Sleeping Dogs.
Probably a better and more reasonable guess could bePayday 3. As505 Gamesreleased the previous version, we do know that Payday 3 will be available in 2023. As a result, it is expected that we get an announcement sooner or later. However, the Epic Games Store exclusivity could be a disappointment for fans of the series if it turns out to be Payday 3.
