Among all the new features and ideasElden Ring Nightreignbrings, my favorites are inevitablythe new bosses.

Elden Ring Nightreign: Complete Guide & Walkthrough

Everything you need to survive in Limveld. Or at least have a fighting chance.

The Nightlords are the mainattractionof a video game that, despite its ups and downs, are fun for those who enjoy the Soulsborne formula, especially because they are spectacles of colossal proportions.

Even with the game’s cooperative dynamic, these new challenges are as demanding as FromSoftware has accustomed us to, tasking us with battles that will force us to master the mechanics perfectly.

However, as in every game from the studio, some encounters are more difficult than others. Therefore, after completing the game, I can finally present this list ofthe eight hardest Nightlord bosses, ranked.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s Maris Boss

8Maris, Fathom of Night

An Annoying Breeze

If there’s one thing I dislike most in a Soulsborne game, it’senemies who keep running away, especially if that’s the only reason their fights drag on.

Consequently,Maris, Fathom of Nightis not only the worst boss in the game but also the easiest, as it’s a fairly passive entity that takes more damage from spamming environmental elements than from attacking itself.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s Gnoster Boss

Even without being a ranged Nightfarer, which makes the fight even more straightforward, it’s a poor duel in both quality and difficulty, with nothing engaging about its gameplay.

When Maris appears as theAugurin one of the spontaneous events that can take place in Limveld, it’s easier to realize how bland it is. For me,it’s unshakable in last place.

7Gnoster, Wisdom of Night

An Underwhelming Duo

Over time,FromSoftware has refined its approach to dual boss fights, offering increasingly fair and entertaining multitudinous battles.

I wouldn’t sayGnoster, Wisdom of Nightis an exception to that statement, as it’s a visually fascinating and mechanically fair fight. Still, its resolution can be a bit too simple.

Since the scorpion can withstand the damage from the moth’s projectiles,it’s easy enough to stay close to it without straying too far, which is nice since its attacks are telegraphed and slow.

The second phase is more demanding, but you can rely on the same tactics without much issue. This is the first boss I’ve defeated solo, and while it’s no walk in the park,it’s nowhere near as demanding as the other Nightlords.

6Gladius, Beast of Night

The Most Balanced Multiple Encounter

Speaking of multiple encounters,Gladius, Beast of Night is probably the most balanced fight in the entire gamewhen it comes to facing multiple opponents.

Someone forgot to put a leash on this puppy.

Whether they stay as a single entity or split into three beasts,it’s a fairly manageable fight even when playing solo, as the bosses tend to attack in turns or split up if you’re in co-op.

The combat never becomes overwhelming, and it’s always possible to manage the various attacks they throw at you from a distance or up close. Yet, it regularly requires you to be aware of everything at the same time to take advantage of its good balance.

Gladius, Beast of Nightis a perfect introductory fight to Elden Ring Nightreign’s mechanics, and if the rest of the encounters followed its refinement, no boss in the game could be considered bad.

5Adel, Baron of Night

A Headache Weak to Poison

Adel, Baron of Nightis the first boss in the title to enter the realm of true difficulty, as it’s an encounter with giant hitboxes and numerous area attacks.

Elden Ring Nightreign: How To Beat Adel, Baron of Night

Hideous, vile, and did I mention one of the most annoying Nightlord bosses?

Its ability to inflict bleed is insane, coupled with the ease with which its grab attack can reach you and deplete your health (and your teammates', as it can grab more than one) in a matter of seconds.

Even though it’s weak to poison,it’s formidably fast and slippery, especially in its second phase when it summons purple lightning and everything becomes a destructive spectacle.

It’s not a boss I’m particularly fond of because I feel it’s too erratic, butAdel marks the difference between the manageable bosses and the more demanding Nightlords.

4Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow

The Campaign’s Difficulty Breaking Point

Adel marks the difference between easy and punishing bosses, though it sits in the middle ground from whichFulghor, Champion of Nightglowushers in Elden Ring Nightreign’struly difficult encounters.

The Darkdrift Knight is fast, has multiple attack styles, extensive areas of effect, and swift and powerful movement patterns, resulting in an entire arsenal of pure complications.

Its weakness towards Lightning partially reduces its difficulty, but when the second phase begins and it unleashes the most Manus-esque attacks you’ve ever seen, you realize it’s not a boss to play around with.

Despite this, Fulghor never feels unfair, and its timing is precise but lenient so as not to sacrifice the spectacle and still give you a tough fight, making it one of the game’s best bosses.

3Caligo, Miasma of Night

A Dragon Worthy of FromSoftware’s Best

While FromSoftware’s dragon roster has already grown enough to make it an arduous task to break into the top tier, I feelCaligo, Miasma of Nighthas bravely achieved this feat.

This icy beast is a blizzard on its own, capable of inflicting frostbite like nothingand with bewildering ease in traveling long distances within the arena and ending the lives of all Nightfarers.

I wouldn’t say it’s at the same level of difficulty as its peers like Midir or Bayle, as it has fewer moves and more deliberately timed attacks to dodge. Still, it’s so deadly at both close and long range that you can never be too confident.

If it weren’t for ranged heroes, I might still be facing it. To be honest, facing it alone almost scares me, which explains perfectly how difficult Caligo really is.

2Libra, Creature of Night

The Hardest Madness-Inducing Fight

As a clear contender for Elden Ring Nightreign’s best boss,Libra, the Creature of Nightis among the encounters that most resemble the FromSoftware we all love and admire.

With fast and perfectly telegraphed attacks, tons of colorful teleportations and magic, and diverse phases and status sequences that force you to fine-tune your gameplay,it’s a perfect match of immense difficulty and wonderful design.

The best way I can distinguish this is by how easily these bosses are fought both solo and in co-op, andLibra never fails to deliver a fair but demanding fight that’s impossible to emerge from unscathed, even in victory.

Surprisingly, this behemoth managed to turnElden Ring’s most annoying status effect into one of Nightreign’s most astounding fights, so I can only applaud him for his remarkable accomplishment.

1Heolstor the Nightlord

A Real Final Boss

Despite trying it with all the characters, various combinations of Nightfarers, and even with as many resurrection items as you’re able to accumulate in a single playthrough,Heolstor the Nightlord’s difficulty is a world apart.

While his first phase is average, his second phase becomes an interdimensional brawl from which emerging victorious seems more of an irregularity than the norm.

Elden Ring Nightreign: How To Beat Heolstor The Nightlord

Dethrone the final lord and claim back the night.

Without weaknesses beyond the Holy element, he does it all: throws projectiles, teleports, charges, masters all the status effects of previous Nightlords, deals cataclysmic damage, and can literally tear a rift in space-time.

None of this prevents him from being called the finest boss inElden Ring Nightreign, as he certainly has the quality to back it up. What is undeniable either way is thathe’s the hardest boss in the game,by far.

It’s not a difficulty on the scale ofMaleniaorPromised Consort Radahn, but the fact that these are the ones I’ve chosen to compare Heolstor to says more than all these paragraphs about the inexorable challenge it presents.
