The number one position was previously held byCall of Duty: Vanguard, which has now fallen to the number two position after a mixed launch back in November of last year. AlthoughCall of Dutycontinues to dominate sales year after year, there have been rumblings that Activision is consideringditching the annual release schedule.

Along with the likes ofFIFA,Call of Duty’sannual release makes it hard pushed for any other titles to get a whiff at the number one position in terms of sales. Even 6 months after launch,Call of Duty: Vanguardhas only just been knocked off the top spot. But it should come as no surprise that the highly anticipated release ofElden Ringhas been the one to topple the king.
