Last month, Toei Animation postponed the theatrical release ofDragon Ball Super: Super Hero.Well, after a long wait, we finally have a new release date for the movie.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Herois one of the most awaited anime films of 2022. Toei Animation released the first trailer for the movie last year and confirmed a theatrical release in Japan for April 22nd, 2022. The anime community is excited that they’ll get to witness a new DBS project this year. Toei Animation is working on the movie, and the CG animation looks surprisingly good in the trailer.

However, Toei Animation went through a difficult time, and because of this, the studio had to putDragon Ball Super: Super Hero and One Pieceon hiatus. Since then, fans have been waiting for any news on the movie’s release date; well, we finally have some interesting updates for the community.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Release Date

For now, the movie is only coming out in Japan, and Toei has yet to give us an international theatrical and streaming release date for the project.

Why Was Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Delayed?

For the unacquainted, Toei Animation’s internal network was hacked on March 6th, 2022. The breach affected several ongoing anime projects under the animation studio, includingOne Piece,Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, Digimon Ghost Game, Delicious Party: Pretty Cure, andDragon Ball Supermovie.

The movie was only a month away, as it was scheduled to release in April 2022. But now, fans in Japan will have to wait for around 50 more days to watch the movie in theatres.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a newDragon Ballproject on your screens. Fans have been eagerly waiting forDragon Ball SuperTV anime series to come back with a Season 2. However, there’s no update regarding the Tv show’s second season. Instead, Toei Animation announced another anime film, which of course, will exponentially expand theDragon Balluniverse.
