It’s not a major patch, as it onlyaims to solve some crashes and fix some bugs, among other things. While it likely won’t changeanyone’s opinion of the game, patches are rarely a one-and-done deal.

This patch’s headline bug involves cosmetics misbehaving in one scene. Another issue reset companion skill points, and a final issue made DLSS options unfriendly to some Nvidia GPUs.

This is on top of some “minor balance changes” - a sort of adjustment that can go very well or poorly, ifsemi-recent discoursefrom theHelldiversscene is any indication.

The comments section on BioWare’s announcement post is not incredibly positive. A quick scroll through the comments on the post embedded above shows more than a few complaints.

There are a lot more changes people want to see in Veilguard. Some are reasonably patchable, and others less so. In either case, it’s clear that there’s a desire for more updates to the game.

While the latest Dragon Age title is likely to see a few more patches over its lifetime, it’d be naive to wish for anything especially large. We already know what their next big thing is going to be, and while they’re clearly not all hands on deck for it, they’re pretty close.
