Training Hall
A big problem players had with understanding what Next Order wants from them is simple:you aren’t supposed to use the enemies to level-grind.In Floatia, your main world hub, you have an area in the research district called theTraining Hall.This is the place where you need to do all your training. Select which specific stat you’d like either or both Digimon to learn, then confirm. There’s a set amount ofbonusesno matter the combination. If you manage to land on one of these bonuses in the minigame that happens after every training session, your Digimon will earn more experience. You won’t gain extra points if you miss, but the bonuses are easy to stack. You can get them for things likefeeding your Digimon food they love, just recently Digivolving, or because they are already very fond of you.
Once you find Kabuterimon from a side quest, he’ll decide to help the Training Hall by letting youpurchase upgrades for the equipment.The higher the level, the more points your Digimon will learn after each training session. With enough upgrades, you can go from rookie to mega in as short as 2 in-game days.
Necessary Skill Caps
Like with Cyber Sleuth, your Digimon has to meet certain requirements before they Digivolve. There will be different requirements depending on which Digimon they will Digivolve into. Check out theHistoryscreen for your partners to get a quick overview of what stats you need, but be warned, most of these stats will be a secret.
To learn these stats, you have to communicate with your Digimon when the game asks you to. When they refuse to eat or sleep, or if they complete a battle,scold or praise them as you see fit, andyou’ll be rewarded with the knowledge of a few stats they need to Digivolve into certain forms.
You never get the option to Digivolve them, only the Digimon will decide.You may reach what you think is the requirement, only for your Digimon partners to remain in their current form. It takes a lot of patience, more than usual for monster-taming games.

DNA Digivolution
There will be aDigivolution Dojoright next to the Training Hall. Here, you’ll find other Digimon who will help you learn what your current partners need to evolve.Paildramonwill offer you the chance to undergoDNA Digivolution.If your current Digimon partners are compatible for a fusion, you sacrifice 1 of them so the other can become a more powerful form.
The other Digimon doesn’t die, they are just dedigivolved to a previous state and gain a few extra days of life. It’s up to you if it’s worth the trade-off, but it usually is.
Extra Cross Evolution
If at least one of your Digimon is at Mega, there is an ultimate form they may become:Extra Cross Evolution, or EXE.This happens when both of your Digimon are felled in combat. Your player character will cry out, then run up to your partners like normal. However, after the screen goes black, you’ll hear a quiet heartbeat and a new cutscene will play. Your Digivice will glow and your Digimon will fuse into an all-power Digimon such as Susanoomon or Gallantmon CM. While you can still fail the fight even in this new form, your ultimate Digimon will be fully healed and come with unique and powerful moves that will usually ensure the domination of the enemy.
Difficulty Differences
Digimon World: Next Order was not without its share of controversies in terms of level grinding. The original Japanese release was criticized by players who felt it was too easy. So, when North America got their hands on a PlayStation 4 version, there was a new difficulty mode that catered to those complaints. However, this was not labeled as such, it is instead treated asa difficulty setting.
Easy in the NA PS4 version is the original difficulty, while Normal is a harder version that limits the experience gained from the Training Hall and battles. This fix was met with complaints that may or may not have been fixed.
According to Bandai-Namco, the rerelease for Nintendo Switch and PC have a Beginner difficulty that changes settings such as your run speed and enemy toughness. This likely affects your earned experience, and therefore how soon you Digivolve.
