10 Chambers, a development studio founded byPAYDAYcreator and game designer Ulf Andersson, took toThe Game Awardslast night and revealed gameplay footage for their upcoming gameDen of Wolves.
Described as a “techno-thriller co-op heist FPS,” the trailer showcases a futuristic, almostcyberpunk-inspired world where players take down the CEOs and Boards of Directors of over 400 in-game brands.

The trailer highlights snippets of gameplay mainly focused on raiding vaults, but the playable characters aren’t necessarily after money. They’re after change.
Den of Wolvesmay look and feel like anopen-world game, but that’s due to the game’s mission structure. Before jumping headfirst into a mission, players need to complete quests, gain intel, and better prepare themselves before performing a heist. We’ve seen this gameplay formula work effectively in games such asGrand Theft AutoandAssassin’s Creed.

Grand Theft Auto VI’s Lack of Release Date Is Holding Up Other Games
Many publishers expect Grand Theft Auto VI to be delayed.
Once you begin a mission, you may either sneak in and out quietly or run in guns blazing.
Den of Wolves' Story Has Real-World Parallels
Of course, the concept of taking down corporations is incredibly relevant today, and 10 Chambers narrative director Simon Viklund is fully aware of this.
“You don’t need satire, because you may just take real-life examples of what corporations try to get away with. Obviously we don’t know what theydoget away with because we never find out about it. So there’s a fog of war that we don’t know what’s happening,” Viklund toldTheGamer. “But the things we do find out, it’s like you can just take those things and replace the names of the corporations and put them in as a storyline in the game, and it will come across as satire, because it’s so frickin' dark.”

10 Co-op Games That Will Ruin Friendships
Let the blame game commence!
The game takes place in fictional Midway City in 2097, where corporations do business with zero government oversight. Viklund calls it a zone of unregulated innovation. Again, that sounds familiar given today’s state of news, making the release ofDen of Wolvesincredibly timely.
It’s slated for an Early Access release in “20..,” so maybe that’s 2025? The game has been in development for the past two years, but no official release date has been set.
