Although we don’t know a great deal aboutHideo Kojima’s next long-awaited sequel,Death Stranding 2, we do know that Sam will still be traversing a world beset by otherworldly enemies and players think they have found the perfect way to incorporate a better way to carry packages and Sam’s backpack all inspired by a survival video about attaching a heavy-duty helium balloon to a backpack in a bid to lighten the load for hikers.

Just a few years ago, it’d have been unthinkable that A24 would be adapting a game to movie.

In a post on Reddit, posterSoloberrkstumbled upon a video byFailure Is an Optionhost Brendan Carberry. The former aircraft engineer can be seen attaching a heavy-duty helium balloon to a backpack that lightens the load for backpackers across the world, which is a pretty innovative idea if you don’t mind a balloon following you everywhere.
Obviously, the reel is mostly aimed at backpackers who struggle with overbearing loads as they travel up mountains, across tough terrain, and long-distance hikes, but this cool concept hasn’t skipped over the minds of Death Stranding fans who think this would also be a great idea to include in either the current game or the sequel.
“This is a good idea. It would also be balanced and a bit of a risk since if your cargo falls from Mule attacks or tripping or falling or whatever your cargo could fly off. Fun idea for sure.” repliedTh3Kill1ngMoonin the comments. “It would be hard sneaking up with a ton of cargo, but I’m all in favor of this feature, very clever and would bring a lot of fun situations to play,” statedFWagner13.
One of the concerns is, obviously, Sam could be seen a mile off, making him prone to attacks, and also the question if the balloon could withstand TimeFall, so there would have to be some way to make it invisible and only useable in dire situations, but either way, it’s ease of use for all those packages would be a godsend. No more dropping and having to go back for deliveries!
Death Stranding 2 is one of the most anticipated upcoming PS5 games, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store when it releases in 2025, especially Kojima’s new creative and strange mechanics.
