Fast travel doesn’t become available for players until theycomplete Order Number 12in Episode 3. After completing Order Number 12, you’ll unlock the ability tofast travel via your ship, the DHV Magellan.

How to Use Fast Travel
To fast travel with the DHV Magellan, all you need to do isboard the ship and open your map.Next, select"Chart Route"by holding down the X button and then select the destination. This form of fast travelallows you to transport cargo.
You have to physically be on the DHV Magellan to fast travel with it. Charting a course without going on the ship will result in the ship leaving without you.

Instead, all cargo you’re traveling with will be placed in a private locker whenfast traveling with Transponders.So, don’t stress too much when you respawn with zero cargo in your backpack.
Having all cargo transported to a private locker isn’t the end of the world, considering you can just recover it from the DHV Magellan, but it can be a nuisance. You’ll have to reorganize your cargo again and manage weight distribution.
